As long as he knows you love him, I don't think you need to do anything to encourage it. He'll ask you when/if he's ready.

Sweetie,you cannot "convince" someone to propose to you.Proposals/marriages are huge steps and huge commitment in a relationship.I also have a question for you!How long have you and your partner been dating?You very well could be at different stages in the relationship.By this,I mean...each person moves at a different rate in a relationship.Some things you are ready for,he may not necessarily be ready for at this point in time.The most important thing in a relationship,and something that is so under stressed is communication.You can sit him down and talk to him.However,he may feel pressured.Some just arent comfortable with committing,that drasticly for a while and that takes some times.It is totally understandable for him not to be extremely comfortable with the idea of marriage just yet.It does not mean he doesnt love you,or care for you a great deal,it simply means that comittment isnt something he is ready for at the present time.Take it slow,and when/if he is ready he will propose to you.Just dont rush him into it,'cause you just may scare him away!Good luck hun,and have a good day!

you cant do it, it has to come by itself. I wanted to propose to my lady as well, however, things came up and her true character came up. This made me postpone the proposal for a few more months. Plus, if you do, he may take it the wrong way and say that you like him for a certain interest you want from him. Which, hopefully is not true. You cant pressure, you are almost there. Life will throw new challenges at you guys that may be difficult to overcome.

You can't make him do anything. It's nice to talk about marriage, but he will propose when he is ready to.

Take him around places like bridal shops and just talk to him about weddings and stuff. As him what kinda wedding he would like (As silly as that sounds you might be surprised what he says!) Tell him things like, I'd love to have these at my wedding! Or, ask his opinion on things like that.

NEVER ASK HIM THAT he might not be ready for marriage and pressuring him when he isn't ready could lead to a divorce.
