You should be more careful of your words, when speaking of God. Plus...it would be helpful if you actually READ the book you are making comments on.
However, just to set the record straight, God is no where portrayed as "spoiled or vengeful" as you claim. On the contrary, he is a good God. Every good and perfect gift comes from him.
God have mercy on you.

God created evolution, physical, emotional, & spritual, Well, in spiritual evolution you have to see that we as a people were not spiritually evolved to God's greatest image. In fact, we're not even close today (genocide, war, abortion, porno, etc) ... so, we're still striving to shed our bad ways to evolve to God's glory. The hope is that we can identify that "Genocide" is bad ... the hope is that we work together and find ways to correct "Genocide" ... and the hope is to ride "Genocide" from the planet.
Imagine you got a hold of a spoiled teen-agers diary. You might expect to read the worst of everything. "Brian didn't notice me, Mom took the door off my room, Dad then made fun of my weight, and won't let me drive the car this weekend." Okay ... paints a bleak picture doesn't it? Well, as she grows up and matures we could expect to read, "Law class is hard. I never imagined that steeling had so many different levels. How can our government protect those being stole from; especially their retirment savings?" ... so, we're see less "Self" writings, and more "Social" writings. So too with human evolution ... we have evolved physically, and spritually. God planted the seed in us to mature to be in his image, but he didn't instantly "Poof" make us perfect. Until we can stop focusing so much inward (individually & socially) we're trapped beteen being animals & divine.

Right uh huh... that's why he healed the sick, promises eternal life to those who accept him, suffered a terrible death on the cross... as an atonement for your sin.
That's why he saved the woman from getting stoned and said YOU without sin cast the first stone... showing everyone is equally human, and capable of error. Yeah that really sounds like a spoiled brat? Obviously you need to read some more.
Have a great one!

Because you understand neither God nor the Scriptures. God punishes those who are defiant and disobedient, but from his perspective, the ultimate variable is not physical life, but the condition of a soul. In virtually every case in the Bible, those "punished" are people or nations who were in open rebellion against God's holiness. (Job is a notable exception here). Plus, God is not only holy (will not coexist with evil), but he is also sovereign, meaning he can act as he wishes....after all, he IS God..well, duh....

I want to know why we have an appendix. Does God have an appendix? It serves no function and basically sits there waiting to get infected so we have it removed or die. At some point in our evolutionary history it may have served a purpose (did I say EVOLUTION?) but it no longer serves anything...if we were in God's image, wouldn't our bodies have NO unnecessary parts?
I throw lower back pain the mix too. There's more and more evidence that people get it spontaneously because our spines aren't designed perfectly for walking upright.

Having read the Bible multiple times, I can assure you that portrait of God is not found anywhere in scripture. So there is no Bible justification to act that way.

"The Ethiopians say their gods are black; the Thracians say their gods have blue eyes and red hair. If cattle or horses or lions had hands to draw and sculpt, they would make gods in their own likenesses." --Xenophanes (570-480 BC)
And the Hebrews say their god is vengeful, jealous (and singular).
It seems to me that the simplest and most elegant explanation is that men created gods.

Your question is obviously intended more as a subjective comment on the Bible and less an interogative. As such it neither deserves (nor likely intended) to be answered.

Image is different than personality. I disagree with your assessment of God.
