I dislike the people who constantly have to remind us about war casualties because they are exploiting those deaths for their own political purposes.
The do not really care about those soldiers - they are just using them.

the apathy just kills me! most of the answers above me make me sick! Looks like very few people actually care that over 3500 innocent american soldiers have been killed. My fiancee is fighting this stupid oil war and i can barely watch tv because I am so afraid that his name will be said. But I think the media is being paid not to show the caskets and report the numbers. They and this government have successfully fed the american people lie after lie about this war - starting with the LIE that IRAQ attacked us - THEY DID NOT ATTACK US!! Finally people are starting to pay attention. That's why baby bush's approval rating is in the twenties!
31 dead in 11 days! Can you even believe it?!?!!? we have lost LOST this war. We are losing multiple americans every day for NO REASON! Why are we still there? We will lose many many more. Does bush care? If he pulls out now, he loses the war on oil! He doesnt want to admit that he's wrong! What does he care that a few more soldiers die tonight?

Of course it does. My husband is over there right now. I'd like nothing better than to have him home with me. But unfortunately, when there's war, people die. And while it troubles me when I hear or read about U.S. casualties, I also realize that everyone does eventually die and death can come at any given time. Incidentally, he was in the Pentagon on 9/11 in the wedge that was hit. He could have just as easily died that day, too.

Yes it bothers me but in the same breath, they are doing their jog to keep us safe. I support what they do and why they are doing it. I have relatives over there right now and my son is on alert to go. I support this war and the troops! I pray for them many times a day, that is what keeps me sain. War is h ell on the homefront, too! Does it bother you and do you support the troops and the war?

Hey, chicken little, go back to your street corner and peddle your crack. We know what we are signing on for. Believe me, we kill many, many, many more bad guys than they do of us.
I wish everyone would look at warfare statistics. While no one American life lost is ever a good thing... Did you know that more men died on D-Day in the first 8 hours than have in the entire freaking Iraq War? Did you know that Vietnam saw 3,000 men killed in three month periods? I am guess you don't know that. The only reason that losing 3k men / women and disabling circa 25k (I don't know that papercuts count in injured totals) is a big deal is because little freaks like you want to hand over every little thing you've been blessed with. Frankly, your lack of stomach makes me want to vomit and your lack of knowledge makes me chuckle.

I believe more people die from drunk drivers every month...
Soldiers are doing the job they were commanded to do and some will die during wartime.
I am blessed for every day that I am given with my soldier.

Doesn't it bother YOU that your fellow countrymen won't have a place to sleep tonight and children will go to bed hungry right here in the U.S.?

Don't you love luvisuzu's response, which is typically American: we don't need to "be reminded" of our war casualties. She suggests we go back to playing video games. That's exactly what's wrong with our gluttonous country today. Instead of focusing on the atrocities from this unconstitutional, illegal, unjustified, immoral 'war', we simply choose to ignore it and go back to our "video games" or other comfortable distractions in life.
It's a shame that our President won't allow images of flag-draped caskets returning from Iraq, nor will he bother to meet those caskets as they arrive at Dover Air Force Base. After all, it's not the right 'image' he wants to portray! That kind of shallow, callous attitude toward our dead and wounded is what allows Americans to casually go about their business without any regard for the inhumanity that happens everyday in Iraq. Out of sight...out of mind. Let's all go back to playing video games..... -RKO- 06/11/07
