If you do, would you pray for my mother-in-law Amy? She has cancer. It was in remission, but now it's come back. The prognosis doesn't sound good. (If you don't believe in God or prayer, could you just please refrain from stupid and/or rude comments?)

One consideration (and I don't mean to be rude, I really hope your mother in law recovers): there has been a scientificly sound study (I believe by the Templeton institute) where a large group of heart patients, about to undergo surgery, were divided into 3 groups. People from a large church community in a different State were asked to intensely pray for members from two of these three groups. One of the two groups were told that they were being prayed for, the other weren't.

Later, after the heart patients had their surgery, the results were that the 1st group who not been prayed for were no worse or better off than group that had been prayed for but weren't told that they were prayed for. So the prayer seemed ineffective. However, the third group who were actually told that they were prayed for did WORSE than the ones that didn't know they were prayed for.

The implication is that knowing that lots of people pray for you may give you less of a chance of recovery because it adds additional stress, as the patient feels that their situation must now be very dire indeed.

So if you ask people to pray for your mother-in-law perhaps it is better that you don't tell her.

I do believe that God can heal- I have seen it and I will pray for your mother-in-law. I have to say though, no matter what God decides to do it will be for the good of everyone. And it will be for His glory. If your mother-in-law does not get healed do not blame God. He has a plan and in time to come you will see everything make sense and come together for something good.

once you pray to God it extremely is in comparison to you asking a make certain for a toy. What praying is you acknowledging your man or woman sins, asking forgiveness, and praising his good works regardless of your crappy existence. God would not "answer" HIV/AIDs and amputee's prayers because of fact while Adam committed the unique sin he poisoned all of mankind to go through his sin, and we inherit that sin. God "refuses" to help those human beings because of fact guy could pass go through their punishment for the unique sin. God created the guidelines of Physics and does no longer end them and end them while he needs considering would defeat the factor. He created this great mouse capture designed to allow for unfastened will and save the main souls as achieveable meaning the universe will play out because it grew to become into designed to. If God granted something you needed with adequate prayer, It stops being prayer. What it turns into is making guy think of he can triumph over his sin by utilizing himself, no longer basically that it makes it so its no longer out of religion or love you stick to God yet financial benefit.

Will do. We know that He can do what seems impossible. While we pray for her physical healing, let's not forget to pray for her continued faith and relationship with the Lord.
