Religion "sells" and promotes male supremacy. Their main text book is the bible, written by 66 men. The bible is the book that puts men on a pedestal, while crushing women to the lowest. A book that looks benign on the outside, but is malignant within.

It sells a label that you can apply to yourself that means different things to different people, but is intended to tell similarly labeled persons that you have similar belief systems or lead others to believe you meet the stereotype for that label.

Your question made me think of how business owners put the Christian fish in their windows to lead people to believe it is an honest establishment. It sells a persona, a set of characteristics.

Some do. Mormons sell magic underwear, which all are supposed to wear after they've been to the temple. It's a cult thing.

Christians don't sell anything, they tell the Good News of the free gift of salvation in Christ.

Try it! :-)

Yes.

Many religions say that you have to tithe part of your income, so you are paying.

For this they say that you will get into Heaven after you die, as opposed to going to hell. This is not testable, so it can not be disproved.

However, religions make many testable claims.

That prayers are answered. -this has been tested and found to be false.

Christianity claims that the truly faithful can drink poison and handle snakes. Lets start with the preachers, they should be the most faithful.

People give money to priests, so something is being sold. In Christianity and its relatives-Judaism, Islam and Mormonism- tickets to a phony heaven are for sale to suckers who attend services regularly and may give to regular offering, special offering and building funds.

Yes, a ticket straight to hell! Religion is a manmade thing. Christianity is a relationship between man and God. There is a VERY big difference
