This is a really good thought provoking question. I guess if they sell a physical product they would fall into that bracket. You have a great point though. This could be debated all day. LOL Its hard to apply that law to a philosophy. Might be nice if we could. LOL

Then why doesn't Satan (the world) have to do the same?
It is not that "churches" are lying... it is more that you do not BELIEVE.
As far as your supposed "advertising" done by Churches...the only thing I've ever seen or heard Churches advertise is that all are welcome and the times of their services. Sometimes they do advertise special functions they are holding. What happened to you? Did you get there only to find out that the bake sale was the Saturday before and the paper had made a misprint? That is tragic!

Separation of Church and state goes two ways, State cannot tell the church what to do, church cannot tell the state what to do...that line gets crossed all the time....
I think they should..."if you join this church we have x number of members, and we rape their wallets each month for this much and 30% of the new members will be divorced in the next 5 years..."

consistent with danger you atheists ought to ought to carry on with certainty in merchandising regulations, besides. not greater coaching evolution as "certainty" in faculties, not greater denying that six hundred million human beings have been killed by technique of atheistic Communism provided that its inception, no letting Richard Dawkins blather on as though he replaced into the be-all, end-all of intelligence while the guy could no longer reason his way out of a paper bag with the two ends shrink off, etc. there's a lot of room which you may freshen up your acts, besides.

Scientist who believe in global warming caused by man is one of the crazy things I've heard recently . . . educated people who know our sun is getting hotter, blame it on man . . . wow! That is crazy

As with any law.....proof is needed to convict someone of wrong doing----- Do YOU have anything to prove false advertising?

They get away with a lot. The mega church down the street from me has yard signs that say "Heaven? Deal or no deal?" Despite the obvious pascal's wager message, I wonder if churches can get away with blatant copyright theft?!?

If everyone would have to follow this law, then scientists would not be able to talk about theories that they are thinking about. Evolution would be on the chopping block. Christianity would be safe.

Um, Churches don't advertise a product. So go ahead and take them to court if you want. Let me know if you can prove them false.
