If no one wants what they have, then it must not be valuable. So they have to convinvce themselves that everyone else wants what they have, in order to assure themselves of it's value.
Also, they project their own needs onto everyone around them. If they need conformity and a security blanket, everyone else does too.
Note that this is only applicable to a very tiny minority of Christians. It can also apply to other immature people just as easily, regardless of religion.

As a Christian myself, I find your statement too judgmental of the entire grouping.
I would think that the majority of Christians, like myself, don't have any ill-will towards anyone. Unfortunately, the "biggest and loudest" always look for ways to bring down anyone that thinks differently.
Personally, I believe that what will happen in the future is Biblically based. I can't prove it - ust believe it this way.
What you want to believe, perceive, conclude, etc. is your choosing. I can respect, and even accept that as your choice and affirmation.
ONe day, I hope there will be a time that opposing points can come together in a manner of respect. It is then where you will see the true nature of Christianity and aetheism - where you can elaborate without wondering why your feelings in this question have to be raised.

I hope that I can bring some light to this confusion in a positive manner.
Not all Christians feel jealousy, since envy/jealousy is a sin. We are all sinners, yes, but some of us fall weak to certain sins that others can control. Jealousy is a form of envy or hatred toward someone who is different and/or disagrees with you. A good Christian will not shout out wild statements about someone being "stupid" or "evil" or other negative labels. This would suggest a double standard. If we were to try to bring someone to Christ, then call someone else names or say that we HATE them, what does this say about our family? At this point, who would want to come over to a group with that kind of hatred and animosity?
Your final question is well stated and should wake up some of my brothers and sisters. They should not have to argue and fight to convince anyone about God's grace and salvation. We are ALL God's children, whether we admit to that or not is our choice. If we proclaim this understanding, it pleases the Lord evermore!
Atheists are not hated, or SHOULD NOT be hated by Christians. We should instead funnel that wasted energy into fervant prayer for those who are lost or hurting. You can live your life how you choose, of course. I hope that you will open your heart to peace and God's love, someday.
We will stand by the door to salvation and hold it open for you when YOU are ready to come in.
Fair enough?

You should probably rephrase that questions...maybe say
"Why do "some" Christians think that Athiests are jealous of them"
I am a Christian (and proud of it) but I am not going to cram it down someone's throat if they dont want any part of it...nor do I think someone is jealous of my beliefs just because they dont believe...your phrasing stereotype's all Christians

I've never heard that atheists were jealous of Christians. You shouldn't generalize. There are probably some Atheists who are jealous, just like there are some Christians who think they are when they're not.

i am a christain, or at least, i strive to be. obviously you are an Atheist. I do not feel at all as if you are jealous of me. why should you be? you live a life full of no regrets and no self conflict! as for me, i feel convicted everyday for my sinful ways. and why should you be jealous if you dont believe that God is coming quickly and will take HIS children to the most beautiful place imaginable. if you are an Atheist, you dont believe none of that stuff....so, you are right....why should you be jealous?????

I'm a Christian and I must confess I've never even heard this theory you speak of. I've never paused to consider whether atheists are jealous, let alone who or what they would be jealous of.

They must think that to make themselves feel better. In no way am I jealous of persons that are loaded down with religious clap trap. It prevents them from living life more abundantly. I feel sorry for them actually.

Your right we are not jealous. In fact i pity most of them. I think the best one was where someone accused us of being secretly Satan worshiping.
