And don't say no one's ever said, b/c I see it said a lot on here.

Well anyhow, I'm Christian (Yes, that's my first name, and religion, but I go by Christ- pronounced Krist)
and I don't see why you'd say that.

I used to be a knocked up druggy who couldn't go one night without a beer. I'd cheated on my wife I don't know how many times, and occasionally beat up on her too. This was until I looked in the mirror one morning, and thought..... "Hey! What a bastard!"
I knew it was time to change, I'd ignored my kids 1, 4, and 7, and I was surprised I even knew their first names. I looked at my wife, told her all the things I'd done, pleaded forgiveness, and once she saw I was powerless, she left me.
I knew I deserved it, and a week later, after slurping down another beer, I got on my knees and prayed, "God, I know you hear me, it's time to leave this life. Whether she leaves for good, it doesn't matter, but I'm going to live a life with you from now on."

Now, 6 years later, I attend AA meetings, me and my wife are back together, and now my kids, 7, 11, and 13 get along, we go to the city pool, and the nearest roller coasters all the time just for fun. I'm proud of myself, and my family. All because of me, we are so much happier.

Now look at this question, and say:
"Being a Christian is the saddest attempt at life I've ever seen."

Remember, it's the morals, and not the religion, but the religion helps u gain morals/

Sweet n Sour,
You know nothing of being a Christian.
You could just as easily be 'Sour'

Mr America,
and it scares me what'll be done to them. I plead, but if I had the choice of turning every1 into Christians, I'd say no. They'd be robots, and we all need to follow our own paths, for better or worse.

whyn0taskfuhrball -what? lol
no, i think some of them just need to laugh at someone else to make themselves feel better. Of couse, this is the lifestyle for every bully. I have met plenty of nice atheists, and mean Christians too, but I do not get involved in such jealousy.

catwoman,
Thank you. The beliefs don't matter, we will never know 'til death, I just choose to believe. All I'm saying is that God follows you to the path of better judgement, which is not nessecarily a bad thing. We are eye- to eye on the subject.

Lion of Judah,
Well said. I'll give u best answer!
God din't bring me away from sports. He led me to sports, adventure, fun. He just took away the sins. Sins make you lose confidence, so getting away from those sins will give u a higher ego, which will, make u wanto try new things.

Anardi,
and while I still have no clue what you just said, I have figured out from your profile that you are another atheist who likes to spell check Christians. Ok, 'saddest', but you didn't answer my question.

You people get on my nerves, and I don't care if I make a typo, or even a mispelling from time to time. Does it really matter?

Maybe they weren't true Christians. We are happy, not sad. Maybe they backslid. Who knows only they know what is going on.

Bloomin' heck! Do individuals rather assume any individual to take this critically and rush off to turn out to be Christians? If the entire of a character's perception will depend on any individual appearing magic methods, or seeing deep that means in trivial accident, it is not a perception I'd desire any facet of. Quite aside from that, the portrait of the atheist professor is a pathetic cool animated film. No-one educating at that stage could be so unwilling to interact in any debate and break out with it 12 months after 12 months after 12 months - or no less than, I darn good wish no greater schooling process has sunk that low. And I undoubtedly do not suppose so much of a pupil frame which are so entirely cowed. The entire factor is extra like a caricature than truly lifestyles. I would not ship this to someone, and now not handiest due to the fact I'm now not a Christian. It's badly written, naturally absurd, expects a degree of pondering potential underneath what I'd assume of so much eight years olds - and I would not insult someone I understand with it. By the best way, that does not imply I suppose you could have insulted us - on this context, it is an schooling!!

praise the Lord for your testimony

The Bible says that once you are saved, you are never the same again; you are a new creature (2 Cor. 5:17). If you have gone back to your old ways, then most probably you were never saved. If, however, you were saved, then God won't let you stay in rebellion for long. He will deal with you in whatever way is necessary to bring you back into fellowship with Him.
Did you become a Christian by going to church or by asking Jesus to forgive you of your sins? The latter makes you a Christian, the former doesn't.

Some say that Christianity is boring.

Then They haven't experienced it. No one who is a Christian will ever say that it is boring.
How do They know? Have They ever tried it? There are millions of Christians who have a lot of fun being Christian. We just do it with a lot less sin, and therefore, a lot less problems. Maybe it's only their problems that keep them from getting bored.
What do They think we do all day, sit around fireplaces and read Bibles? We ski, swim, play sports, read, have friends and problems like anybody else. Christianity is not boring. It is an adventure.

people who have said that obviously are hurting spirtually. they dont know God or Jesus. the seem hopeless and negative. some people aare just confused. sometimes my husband acts this way.. but all i can do is pray for him. I pray that God will come into his life and take over and allow him to feel, experience, and see all of the great things that the Lord had in store for him. and thats what we have to do for people who feel what you have said. the time is certainly near. but as for now, the devil controls the Earth and as Christians, we must stick together! God Bless! and how awesome for you that you have experienced the Lord's work first hand!

They could only say that being a Christian "is the sadest attempt at life I've ever seen" if they weren't acquainted with the idea of doubling a single consonant before adding a suffix.

Most of us have no need to substitute one crutch for another. Having never used drugs or alcohol, I simply have no need or desire for any such escape from reality. Why is it Christians always tell me without their religious crutch they would need another or else they would go out and rape and murder is beyond me. Most of us atheists handle reality just fine without any such desires.

NO magic pixie helped you, you helped yourself! What I don't understand is why this is such a bad thing that you don't want to admit it! Atheists have gone throught the same sort of thing and gotten out....who do you think helped them? Themselves!

Hey, if belief in a higher power is what it takes to get you to clean up your act, so be it. You have every right to what you believe, as does every other person on the planet.

I think a lot of us have been alcoholics before Christ came in. Sometimes you have to sink to your lowest to find God.
