A guy from the USA wrote a letter to me, in our native language, and this letter contains threats and some serious blackmailing. Is there a way to punish him via a law firm in the USA? Any suggestions? Please be serious when you answer. Thanks.

Sorry, but by letter I mean a letter sent by fax and not an e-mail, just a fax. Plus, this fax letter is written in our native language (not english) the person who wrote the letter lives in the USA and I don't.

Threatening through the U.S. mail system is a crime. Postal Inspectors are the authorities and investigate those matters but there are very few of them to deal with the volume of complaints they receive. I'd imagine it would come down to how real and dangerous the threats were.

Truthfully, there may not be much you can do, other than stop reading the e-mails and mark them to "Spam". There are a lot of Internet scams where people try to get others money. Many actually get their money, promises of marriage, sharing in an inheritance, etc. I not hear much about the laws in any country doing much.
Below I have given you a few links to browse. There are many, just search for words like;
Internet scams
Internet fraud
Email scams
Internet Dating Scams
etc. as there much people can learn.

Ask yourself this: how could he possibly carry out any threats if he lives in another country?
Your best bet is to report him to the service provider (Yahoo, Google, or whatever.) And make sure you keep a printout copy of the threat for evidence.
