I've scanned the sites, but I'm still not sure what exactly is being proposed. I get a basic concept, but haven't seen any mechanism of how it would work, so I won't say I support it yet.

I do agree with the concept of people voting on more stuff rather than representatives who many times don't do their jobs.

Lobby groups like AIPAC are so effective at closing down careers that Congress votes in favor of Israel and against human rights even though they are disgusted with what Israel does. Individuals wouldn't be bound by that.

Bush has taken more checks and balances from us than any other president it seems.

I liked the idea for a Department of Peace, but it was shot down as being wussy. No real resons that made sense, just plain old machismo. NPR did a good story on it.

There are an infinity of organizations out there that have names that sound like a good cause. People stumble over some, figure out what they are about, decide to participate in this or that organization.

My participation has diminished since 911 because I have no way of knowing which of these worthy sounding organizations is really a front for terrrist financing.
