When the song comes from an artist whose main material is secular music, they don't want their listeners to explore other material by them.

Two reasons. Some radio stations are considered that playing a song on their station could be seen as an endorsement of the lifestyle of the artist singing it. Look at the complains just last week when an actor who appeared in a "creation" video on a Christian site released a porn picture. The site reached a lot of criticism over it. So station will be careful who they play to avoid controversy.
A secondly, different artist as licensed by different "royalty" companies. For a station to play an artist, they have to have a license with the artist "royalty" company (such as ASCAP). As many Christian artist use a "Christitan" licensing company, not all Christian stations are able to play music from secular companies. So there is often a copyright issue involved also.

You aren't going to hear the Christian artist singing it on any other channel either. It doesn't really bother me at all, I have too many other things to be concerned about, lol.
And, the love song that is now sung by Selah which was originally done by Rascal Flats if you notice some of the lyrics were changed to give a whole different meaning to the song.

It does. I'm a Christian and love Christian music, but there are some Christian stations that play songs that they shouldn't just because they think it's a good message. For example, there's a country love song that is played on Christian stations just because Selah started to sing it, too. That's why I listen to American Family Radio when possible. It's pretty good about filtering songs.

I agree but my question is.......... why would a "christian" band want to play or record music/lyrics of the world? Why go into the secular world to get lyrics. It's confusing, but people think just because a "christian" band is singing it, it must be a "christian" song. I mean there is a woman that I love her music but she has a song out on her CD album and it is called
"Everyday people". What in the world does that have to do with Christ or the body of Christ?

It does bother me too. I think it's because the Christian singers have ALL Christian songs, and sometimes the original singers might have other CD s that say bad stuff. So the Christian radio stations don't want anyone to go listen to some of the other stuff and think that's okay.

Was the man or woman giving a instructing from the bible, or no longer? The standards for being a Christian is to take delivery of that the one method to the Father is via the Son. That isn't judging, it's quoting the bible. No guy involves the Father besides via the Son, and if that offends you, probably you must query your calling. Speak the Truth in love, however do not deny the lessons of the bible. I didn't pay attention the man or woman at the radio, I can most effective cross via what you've stated.

I listen to K-Love and they play the original artist.
It bothers me too, call it a quirk, but I love artists that write their own music and I want to hear that artist.

Maybe they are trying to give Christian bands more exposure, using songs that have proved themselves to be catchy and popular, rather than perform original material that might not go down as well.

It only outrages me now that you mentioned it! Either way, a spiritual path shouldn't be about business deals. I have no problems with people expressing their feelings through music though.
