My dog was unleash..unfortunatly..the husky was leashed. The owner told my mom tat his dog bites while trying to get his dog off mine. He doesn't sound too sincere abt apologising when my mom told him tat my dog's jaw was broken n didn't even offer to give some contact no. My mom asked where he stays n he juz says (this area)..until my mom ask him which blk he stays. This is sad...so sad i juz hope tat the owner n his dog can be more responsible..it could be a small child running towards the dog any given day n bitten juz like tat! I hope to bring some justice to my dog...

I am so sorry for your loss. Unfortunately it was you who broke the law by having your dog off lead. I don't believe that any court or police agency will side with you in this matter. If you find a lawyer that specializes in dog bite law I am sure they will tell you the same.
Leashes are for your own dogs protection. Your dog was not under your physical or verbal control and got with in reach of the Husky. This is a horrible lesson to learn about protecting your dog. It is not the other owners nor her dogs fault if your dog was off lead.
If the other owner did not have her dog leashed or they both were leashed the outcome might have been different.
Say a prayer for your dog and if you ever get another never allow them off lead. I am truly sorry but I have to agree that you were the ones at fault.

I believe that you are at fault if your dog was not on a leash, if your state has a leash law then there is nothing you can do to the person with the husky if the husky was on a leash. It is so sad to hear about your dog and I am really sorry, I am so sorry that you had to lose your pet and then not be able to get any satisfaction from the owner of the other dog.Now you could call down to your local humane society or even call an attorney just to get some information they could tell you what your legal boundaries would be regarding the Leash Law, Please don't give up, just call the Humane Society they should be able to tell you exactly what you need to find out.
Good Luck and I sincerely hope things work out for you!!

I would get a lawyer and call the police as I am sure they will lay charges on the owners. Though before you go blaming the dog, think about the owners. Did they seem to care about the dog? Huskies will resort to aggressive behavior if not entertained and trained correctly. Since you will be controlling the charges, maybe ask if you are allowed to have the dog removed from their care if you think the dog is not being well looked after. It's most likely the owners fault that this happened, not the dogs.

I am sorry for you and your dog - However-
The other owner was being responsible and had their dog on leash. You had your dog off leash in a public place. I believe that legally your family are the legally negligent and responsible party.
Your best recourse at this time is to morn the lose of your dog and find a way that you want to honor its life and then if your get another dog - learn a lesson, and keep the next dog on leash and safe.

I am sorry about your loss.
If you did not call the police contact them asap.
Next call a lawyer.
Contact neighbors to see if this has happened to them. Was the dog aggressive towards other dogs. Has it bitten other people or animals.
Most states have animals like property so you will not get pain and suffering. I know that is stupid but that is the law. You can get reimbursed what you paid for the dog and all the vet bills. Your best bet might be to take them to small claims court.
Good luck.

I'm sorry to say it but it sounds like all odds are against you.
(That is if I understand your story right)
First off, you had your dog off a leash, which is pretty much illegal everywhere. (Score~You -1, Enemy 0)
The other dog was on a leash. (Score~You -1, Enemy 1)
This must mean that your dog went up to the other. (Score~ You -2, Enemy One)
The fact that the other dog killed your dog is your only hope.
(Score~ You -2, Enemy 0)
But after all that still leaves you with 2 points less than the attacker, i think, if you do proceed with charges their is a 25% chance of you getting the cost of your dog (depends on the judges sympathy for you)
But i do believe that if you have a leash law where you life that you will be fined, which may end up costing more than your dog cost.
SO OVERALL IT LOOKS LIKE NO LUCK FOR YOU.

Well if you know exactly or roughly as to were the area were this guy lives with his dog contact you local police department about it and file a complaint and also find out from the police about a local humane shelter or agency so maybe they can give you more info about what your rights are for going after this guy. But most likely since your dog was unleashed depending on you city's leash law you may not get anything. But since the guy wasn't willing to give to much info about what happened exactly and also as to were he lives most likely this has happened to him before and his dog is on his last strike. You local police department and humane society will be able to tell you if this dog as a rap sheet. But I would file a complaint and then find out your dogs rights as a victim. But be very careful because if you city does have a strick leash laws the tables might turn on you even though his dog killed yours. You might get stuck paying fines for you dog being unleashed and also for any damage your dog might have done to his during the attack. I know your dog was small and his was big but it can happen so first file a complaint and checkout your city laws from a humane society or even a animal lawyer before you pursue pressing charges against this guy.

first let me say I am so sorry.
I don't know the laws where you are but first thing is get lawyer.
I want to ask a few questions if you don't mind.
where did this atack take place like in your yard or was your dog loose and enter teh other dogs property??
Did you actually observe teh attack or are you just supposing it was these two dogs??
this can make a big diference on what your legal stand is.
here where I live you would need to fole a complaint with the police, report to teh animal control and best to get a lawyer.
Good luck
and again sory for your loss

Your not going to get anything by filing charges against the husky's owner. If you would have kept your dog on a leash, it would still be alive. If you get another dog I hope your more responsible.

Sorry to say but it sounds like it was your fault for not having a leash on your dog. His dog was on a leash and yours wasn't, if anything the other dog's owner could file charges against you if his dog was injured. Sorry about your dog, no offense, but if you have another dog be responsible and put a leash on it.
