For those of you who don't know. The Westboro Baptist Church is a church ran by Fred Phelps. Their reason for having this church is to protest at funerals of fallen soldiers, memorial services of bad events (such as 911 and the Va. Tech shooting), as well as funerals for gays and lesbians. They think that God is blaming homosexuals for all the bad things that happen to the world and he's punishing everyone for their "sinning." Do you agree that this is logical or not?

Dick_h: we are "declining your moral state?"

And how is that?

Thanks, Simple Man Of God...

But, how did they get it in their head that it's the fault of the gays?

I guess my next guestion is :"Why exactly is homosexuality considered a sin?"

Phelps, from what I'veheard of him is a dangerous, hate-spewing, lunatic.
End of story.

About the only thing Fred and Co. have right is that homosexuality is sin. They are so far off from true Christianity that it's sickening. I would not look at them as a example of Christianity, but an example of what happens when one man uses his personal feelings as the basis for a religion.

Homosexuality is just one form of sin committed by people around the world, every day. This is not to say that this is committed by every single person, but that every single person sins. If God is punishing the world, maybe we ALL should look at OURSELVES and think of what we did today that was sinful, and ask forgiveness. Scripture says in Matthew 7:3:

"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?"

It would seem that we like to blame others for things that happen and seldom like to look at the role we, ourselves play in things.

Hope this helps...

Just one more example of how far away from true Christianity you can wander when you have no authority other than personal interpretation of the Bible.

The Magisterium offers no such teaching; thus it is erroneous.
