The biggest question that atheists and agnostics seem to have is that God is supposed a God of love and mercy, yet He sent plagues and judgements, and still sends people to hell. I have an answer. Imagine that you have a statue garden, full of statues. Imagine, then, that you have bought beautiful statue. It is utterly clean and perfect. You then look at the statues around it, and see that they are dirty. Do you leave them as they are, knowing that they will take away from the perfect statue? No! You clean them up. Those that won't be cleaned must be taken away. That way you have a totally clean, perfect garden. God must remove anything that is imperfect from His presence. Since all humans are imperfect, we all deserve to die and go to Hell. But God gives a chance to be cleaned. Jesus is like a rag that took all our filth onto Himself, and took our punishment. Then God resurrected Him made him clean, and stopped sin forever, for all who would be cleaned. What do you think?

That has got to be the biggest load of drivel I've ever read, and I've read Battlefield Earth so that's telling you something about the drivel I've read.
The old and weathered statues don't take away from the perfect one, if anything they complement it and draw attention to it. They make it stand out more due to the fact it's perfect and they're not.
Besides, given enough time that perfect statue will also look old and weathered and there's nothing you can do to stop it.

I would leave the statues.
If Jesus died for all of mankind's sins then why do we still die if we should all be "clean" now due to his sacrifice. Face it if god created man in his own image and man is imperfect then it follows that god must be imperfect also.
I would also argue that by leaving the dirty statues you actually enhance the perfection of the perfect statue by showing how dark a driery all the others are around it.

It may work in theory, but where does love come in. We are supposed to be loved by him. I don't do those things to pets I love, nevermind people I love. The love just always seems to be missing. In my mind, if there is a god and he created us, he created us imperfect. If he wanted perfection, he should have made us that way. What you say is insane behavior for even a human being. A god should be a little more loving and intelligent.

The question is not "Why does God send plague and judgements and send people to hell?" The question is "Who do people still want to believe in such a god?"
An atheist has already made up his mind about God; that he doesn't exist.
You really don't need to give us an answer to a question we didn't ask.

Many religious people are not clean and perfect, yet at least you the followers are saying they will be rewarded by going to heaven. Why doesn't your god give a real sign of what's good enough to go to heaven? Instead, it is you the religious followers who are making judgement on other people.

Since Atheists do not believe in any kind of gods or other invisible creatures, the concept of its love and mercy are completely irrelevant.
It is a non existent thing

Please read your argument again.
Can you understand how totally insane your concept of just deserts is. Your claim that humans are all imperfect and because of that should be killed is so horrendously insane that it is beyond belief. The scary and sad part is that you likely do think like that. You are likely just the sort that suicide cults love. Please go for a walk somewhere pleasant. Think about life and then seek psychiatric help. You are dangerous not only to yourself but to others as well.

first, the is no heaven or hell. when we die, we die. or as God says it...we sleep. when the Lord comes back he will awaken the dead and they will be judged and they will be able to make their decision on whether they will be persecuted by Satan and the Antichrist for following the Lord or will they succomb to the temptation that Satan will present. The Lord is going to create a beautiful place for his children and that paradise is sometimes referred to as Heaven. Hell is what is here on Earth right now. and it will only get worse.

If there is a god he made all things bad and good. So therefore he also made all the murderers, thieves, rapists, etc in his image: ergo God is to blame for all the ill in the world. Christians as his followers and servants then by proxy are equally guilty. Is it not time you paid your debt to society?

I think its a good analogy but its still the same basic story and doesnt change my opinion (agnostic) no offense though... I agree with everyone else about appreciating the statues, they'd look rustically cool anyway, you know what I mean?
