can you define "trackback"?

i just saw this in a blog site and i don't know what does it mean.. can you help me find the answer?.. thanks!

Follow backwards, try to go to where you or an other has been.
Unless it is a blog about music, than it might mean a set of music for the backing tape, or something like that.
