At one time. A long time ago.

Nothing. Zip. Zero.

No voice in my head. No miracle in my life. No inspiration or sense of well-being or any of the rest of that nonsense.

Tried it for years. Started asking questions. Got poor answers. Studied. Learned better.

Atheist now. Better off.

Prayer proves nothing about the existence of God.
That's a ridiculous claim.
Basically what you're saying is that only when you pray you can deny the existence of God.
Perhaps...when he doesn't respond, you can take the conclusion that he doesn't exist?
But tehn you people say that some are simply not doing it enough and with conviction.
Prayer proves nothing about God.
It's just an archaiac human practice.

I have never prayed in my life and churches always made me feel uncomfortable.

Just once, I was in a chat room and a Christian challenged me to pray to a god and told me that when god answered my prayer that would prove to me that god was true. So to placate him I prayed for his god to deliver take-out chicken, a task within the capability of most high school students. Alas, the chicken never showed up.

I don't make it a practice of denying anything about the real world absolutely. I simply lack belief in gods. I find the prolific use of logical fallacies that I have been presented with to attempt to justify such a belief untenable.

I am sure there are a few Atheists who spent some time, probably as kids, believing in some kind of god, the same as they believed in Santa Claus and the tooth fairy.

As adults when they had the chance to analyze these beliefs, the truth hit them and the reality of life became perfectly clear.

They prayed and asked for goodies from Santa in the same breath.

I've never prayed a day in my life. What's the point of praying to something that doesn't exist and won't hear me?

Besides, when was the last time you gave a burnt offering to the lord? Didn't you know that it pleases him for you to do so?

I did pray when I was a Theist. You are quite incorrect, even if there *is* a God, I do not deny his existence. I am rather honest with the fact that I do not know, but when religion is put in it's context it becomes quite evident that the God of Abraham is based on fallacies..

I've never prayed in my life.

Is that what you were asking?

I don't believe God exists because I've gathered research, and taken all the information I have about religion and all the different varieties there are, and I believe that none of them are correct. With religion my belief in there being a creator also died, and that is why I'm an atheist.

Atheists are exactly the reason that our great nation is what it is today. Their constant whining and moaning and communistic attitude have destroyed this country. It's now open season on America.
I wish they would move and start their own country where they can enjoy their own beliefs. America was founded on the belief " One nation under God " and if you don't like it, there's the door don't let it hit you in your false pride on the way out.
