If being saved is the only way to get to heaven, then most of the people on this earth won't make it. If you are a really good person and haven't been saved will you go to hell. On the other hand what if a murderer was saved right before he died; would he go to heaven? And what about the people who never heard of Christianity will God send them to Hell because they happened to be born is some developing country and didn't have the option of being saved?

Saved from what? Saved from God's punishment? The contradictions in Christianity arise because of the political nature of the religion. If you want to know God you can meditate, serve others, pray...Being "saved" is about dedicating your life to God...that is fine...the idea that you will burn in hell if you don't follow the correct rituals, choose the "right" religion...this would be laughable...if so many people weren't tormented by it.

There is a certain age where God doesn't hold people accountable to their sins. If they die before that age, God will accept them. In developing countries, I believe that the age would be until someone has met a missionary, or has consciensly chosen to turn from God. There are missionaries in almost every developing country. So in aswer to both questions, yes. If a murderer truly turns to Christ, he will be accepted. If a good man in a developing country turns to Buddah or Allah, no he will not be saved. I'm sorry, that's how it works

Organized religion has caused so much confusion about who God is and what His plan is for ALL creation. The answer to your question is: "No". Are you shocked at that answer?

God does not depend on the "will "of man to "get saved" any more that an earthly parent depends on the "will" of a infant. There are only two truths... ALL or NOTHING. God is ALL... everything else is nothing. God leaves nothing to chance. There is physical DNA and spirtitual DNA. What will be will be.

God loves you and there's not a darn thing you can do about it.

Yes the road is narrow. You must be saved and live a life of Jesus to get to heaven. It doesn't matter if your a good person or not. Sad to say I even know some good "christians" I don't think they live a life of Jesus. If your a true Christian you will produce good fruit. In other words if you read Gods word and apply it to your life and have a personal relantionship with Christ that is producing good fruit. If you say your a christian and go about doing normal things of the world, parting, drugs, drinking, porn, cursing, sleeping around etc. then no you are not producing good fruit. When a fruit tree is planted it needs plant food to grow it needs water, that is Gods word food for our soul and if we feed our soul the wrong food then we will perish. Just like the fruit tree you feed it the wrong food it will die.If a murder asks for forgivnes from Jesus for before he dies(also gives his life to Jesus and mean it not just saying it) then yes he will be in heaven with Jesus. All people have a chance to recieve Jesus as there savior. Jesus has no respect of person. As for the people who live in countries that are underdeveloped, that is why the word of God has missionaries. Jesus says in His word, He will not return untill all people have heard My word(I am paraphrasing). In other words some how, some way those people will hear the word of God and given the chance to recieve Jesus as there savior. God works in mysterious ways. That is why we need to pray for our missionaries they are going to very dangerous places and passing and preaching the word of God. All people have the option to be saved. It's weather you decide heaven or hell. As for me I choose Jesus, not just to be in heaven but to be with Jesus.

You problem is that there is no such thing as a good person. Romans 3:10 says "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:"

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" and because the wages of sin is death (eternal damnation) that is what we all deserve. It is by God's mercy and mercy alone that we are saved. There will be NO Christian which can raise up their hand and say "I did it, I saved myself". All of those which are true Christian must fall before God and realize that from beginning to end it was a work of the Lord.

Romans 9:16 "So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy."

Darcy, I think most people miss the point. Some people think that being saved is just good "fire insurance". The most important factor in being saved, is not that you get to go to heaven, but that you have a close relationship with God. When you are saved, your everyday walk with Him is so beautiful. The unsaved do not understand this, and that is why being saved is so important. To have the love of God in your heart and to be motivated each moment to live for Him and His values, is the main reward for salvation. Heaven is your reward for an earthly walk in love.

Yes, you must be saved to go to Heaven. The Bible tells us this. It says that you must be born again. It just means that when you come to believe, you are a new creation and no longer live the life that you lived before.

I do believe that if a person has never heard of Jesus before that they will be given a chance after death. I have to believe that we worship a loving and forgiving God and if a murderer is saved before death, he goes to Heaven too.

OK OK, Firsty I do not believe that one goes to heaven when they die but close enough so I'll act like it for this. I also don't believe in hell I believe if you haven't been saved you go to the grave and cease to exist.
"If you are a really good person and haven't been saved will you go to hell." - Yes, because there are no levels of goodness in Gods eyes. You and I may seem like nice people but we are the same as Osama and Hitler in Gods eyes. this is because we have all sinned at least once and therefore we are guilty of all. This applies to the murderer thing as well.
The whole haven't heard of Christ is a hard one. However it takes nothing more than the beauty of this world to show God, so nobody has the excuse of not believing. Alternatively once Jesus is back the Bible tells of a 1000 year period of teaching. This may refer to the saved people teaching those babies, disabled etc. But really you just have to leave it in his hands. Good Luck!

In order to go to heaven you need to accept Christ as you Lord and Savior. You need to believe that He died for you so that you wouldn't have to spend eternity in hell. You just need to ask Him to come into your life. You need to be born again.
I believe that if a murderer did accept Christ with all his heart and asked for forgiveness and meant it that he would go to heaven. I believe that people who have never heard about Christ will go to heaven and on judgment day will have a chance to accept Christ as their Lord and Savior. and if this doesn't answer your question, read the BIBLE it holds all the answers!
