Hello, my Muslim friend. :)

The answers you would receive to such a question will vary, as each of us Christians find different books of the Bible that inspire us.

My personal favorites are Psalms, Proverbs, Mark, Luke, Romans, 1 & 2 Corinthians, and Galatians. I especially recommend Romans and either Mark or Luke.

Mostly, though, I would suggest that you simply obtain a Bible, and read the whole thing, from Genesis to Revelations. If you can, find a Bible that follows an actual timeline. The books are actually not placed in chronological order, according to events. The entire Bible needs to be read, in order to find the whole picture.

Peace be with you, and I wish you good luck!

There are 4 different Gospels in Scripture: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Each brings out a different important aspect of Jesus' ministry.

Mark was likely to be written first. A lot of evidence points to the fact that it was written shortly after Peter's death (64 AD) If that is the case, it seems Mark is writing during the time of the Nero Persecutions. Mark seems to address a lot of this in his writing. But more importantly, there was a large shift from followers from Jews to Gentiles. A deep understanding of this struggle comes out in Mark's Gospel.

Matthew and Luke came shortly after Mark and seem to use Mark as one of their sources, though they clearly had others as well. Matthew ties in Jesus with the Jewish Tradition and traces Jesus's roots deep in Judaic Tradition. Luke has focused more on the humanity of Jesus. Jesus is a very real and compassionate human in Luke's Gospel.

John's Gospel is quite different. You will notice a huge difference if you read them. John's focus is continually set up to understand the death and resurrection of Jesus. Throughout the scripture, his followers are confused as to what He is saying because they do not put it into context of the cross and resurrection.

For loving God's creation, the book of Psalms is a great place to start. It is a collection of poems and songs written about how great God is. I would also re-read the Genesis Chapter 1 to understand how God loves His creation. It says how good it is several times.

Temptations of the Devil - book of Job or Matthew 4 or Luke 4. Both Matthew and Luke present the story where the Devil tempts Jesus.

Greetings Brother,

I am a Christian so I use the word brother from our common ancestor Abraham. I would also suggest using a students Bible, as this should give you the best understandings of what Christianity is about. Genesis is a great book, without it Christianity would be meaningless, from it we learn of sin, the devil, creation, God, the first mentions of the trinity (NOT three gods but 1 God in three persons, think of a person who is made up of mind, body and spirit.) We also see our common heritage with our Muslim brothers in this book and without it, Jesus died for no purpose whatsoever. But it is a difficult book to read and I would strongly encourage you to first get a grounding using the above mentioned study bible.

Good luck in your quest for knowledge brother and I pray God grant you peace, prosperity and health throughout your life.

I think a good place to start is the Gospel of John, the 4th book in the New Testament. Psalms and Proverbs also are very helpful for people who, like David, are experiencing the joys and trials that come with seeking the spiritual life. It's wonderful to have a genuine question from someone of a differing belief system that is not provocational and mean-spirited. Good luck and God bless you and your father and family.

Jesus tells us the two commandments of love in the Gospel according to Mark chapter 12 verses 30 and 31. These commandments were broken down into 4 in the first tablet and 6 in the second tablet of the ten commandments. The first tablet is love of God, and the second tablet is love of neighbor. You can find the breakdown in Exodus Chapter 20: as follows:
FIRST TABLET-LOVE OF GOD
Commandment 1 Verse 3 "You shall have no other gods before me.
Commandment 2 Verse 4 "You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them;
Commandment 3 Verse 7 "You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.
Commandment 4 Verse 8 "Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.
SECOND TABLET-LOVE OF NEIGHBOR
Commandment 5 Verse 12 "Honor your father and your mother,
Commandment 6 Verse 13 "You shall not murder.
Commandment 7 Verse 14 "You shall not commit adultery.
Commandment 8 Verse 15 "You shall not steal.
Commandment 9 Verse 16 "You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.
Commandment 10 Verse 17 "You shall not covet your neighbor's house. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor."

CREATION is Genesis Chapter 1 verses
26 Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."

27 So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them.

The temptation by the Devil is in the Gospel according to Matthew Chapter 4 verses 1 to 11.

The New Testement is what Christianty bases its current guidline system on. Not the old testement.

Secondley, it is a relationship with God, and should not be seen as religious in the sense that "you have to fit in and do this and that" in order to be a Christian. Idolising certain Christian rituals is Idolatry, so just be aware of that point.

As for Gospels, just read the New Testament. It will give you a fair idea of how to go about your life.

God Bless!

About appreciating God's creation, just look at Psalms 19

Psa 19:1 How clearly the sky reveals God's glory! How plainly it shows what he has done!
Psa 19:2 Each day announces it to the following day; each night repeats it to the next.
Psa 19:3 No speech or words are used, no sound is heard;
Psa 19:4 yet their message goes out to all the world and is heard to the ends of the earth. God made a home in the sky for the sun;
Psa 19:5 it comes out in the morning like a happy bridegroom, like an athlete eager to run a race.
Psa 19:6 It starts at one end of the sky and goes across to the other. Nothing can hide from its heat.
Psa 19:7 The law of the LORD is perfect; it gives new strength. The commands of the LORD are trustworthy, giving wisdom to those who lack it.
Psa 19:8 The laws of the LORD are right, and those who obey them are happy. The commands of the LORD are just and give understanding to the mind.
Psa 19:9 Reverence for the LORD is good; it will continue forever. The judgments of the LORD are just; they are always fair.
Psa 19:10 They are more desirable than the finest gold; they are sweeter than the purest honey.
Psa 19:11 They give knowledge to me, your servant; I am rewarded for obeying them.
Psa 19:12 None of us can see our own errors; deliver me, LORD, from hidden faults!
Psa 19:13 Keep me safe, also, from willful sins; don't let them rule over me. Then I shall be perfect and free from the evil of sin.
Psa 19:14 May my words and my thoughts be acceptable to you, O LORD, my refuge and my redeemer!

HI Abdul,
Start with the book of Mathew. It's over half way through the bible. Look in the index and you'll find the page.
Mathew is the first Gospel of Jesus Christ. Could it be God is drawing you? Ask him.
God bless,

Get yourself a "Student Bible" which is sold in many Christian stores. It isn't just a bible, but a guide on how to read the bible and where you can find what.
