When God formed Adam he was created male and female, Gen. 5:2
then He took Eve out of his side which is a type of Christ and His Bride
Paul calls it a great mystery , Eph. 5: 31-33;

as for God He has many facets and the Holy Spirit seems to be the feminine side, brooding and caring and loving like a mother

I prefer to personify the Divine as one of each. It takes both to create life on this world, so why wouldn't it take both to create the life of this world? Beyond that, I really think that it is neither, I use a personification to put a face on something that I consider to be ultimately faceless..... In male dominated western society, in the written word "he" has always been used to describe an unknown or generic person, or humankind as a whole....

In the all the Vedic literature God is described as "Purusa",means male. The Lord exists as "purusa", or the male enjoyer, although there is no comparing Him to any male form in the material world. Everyone should perfectly understand that Krishna, God, is the real husband of all living entities, who are described(the living entities) in the Bhagavad-gitä as prakrti (female), not purusa (male). Only God, Krishna, is addressed as purusa:

God made man in his own image. Man requested a mate, so a female was made from his rib. But since God breathed his spirit into both, spiritually there is no difference.

Different physical bodies---same spiritual essence.

Do it really matter? God is everything and anything. The Universerse the stars.

"He" is most likely used in text maybe because of society way back, or maybe its because people heard a mans voice when God spoke.... Bottom line is..... God is life.

I would say God is the great "I Am". Whether you are male or female would answer the question of gender, for we are all creators and masters of our own lives. Each time you make a choice or decision you create your future. Thus you are a God.
