My car got broken into last night & my satnav along with my stereo got stolen. The car was parked on the road. The alarm probably went off but nobody heard it. The thief broke the passenger side glass to get in.

Can you tell me where is the best place to go in order to get my glass replaced? Also, would it be worth my while claiming it on insurance?

Thanks

Probably won't be worth claiming, insurance companies make it very hard to claim from a theft. They will probably say you shouldn't have left your sat nav in the car and you'll probably have to pay an excess on your window.
Sometimes I wonder why we get insurance.

Check the wording of your insurance policy - most comprehensive policies in the UK include glass cover, where you pay only an excess (usually about £60), direct to the glass company, and the insurance company pay the rest, without it affecting your no-claims discount. You'll need to show the repairer your insurance certificate, and may have to use your insurance company's approved repairer.

Id agree with the guy above. Its more hassle than its worth claiming for that off your insurance. Dont forget to always take the front off your stereo if possible, and to take that and your sat nav with you and not just leave them in the car. Also if you use a suction cup cradle for the sat nav, always wipe off the ring it leaves on the windscreen. Thieves look for that.

When you ask for references to repair facilities, it would be a great help if you could tell us what country, state, county, city you live in.
