Babies are born bcoz what it means to be Human is to have Freedom of Choice that comes w/ all the experiences of how Life has always been beautiful. If u nvr traveled, there are still places where pple are: trusting, sharing & warm (eg. Batanes, Babuyan Islands etc.) So corruption is not the rule. It depends on where u are & who u are bcoz in u is the place where peace can lie, a sanctuary for all that is lovely =) LoVe, LaUghTer, HappinEss exsist against all that is ugly. Protect it.

Babies aren't "new and clean"--that's a myth.
The truth is we are all born with faults encoded on us. For example, alcoholism has a genetic component. When people have that, it is their task to overcome it.
As a Christian, i also know that every person has **exactly** what he needs at his disposal to overcome his particular trials. It's only a matter of whether or not they want to. I happen to know this from personal experience, too.
The traditional reason for why we suffer is that God created the world Good, then Adam and Eve wanted to make their own rules, so they rebelled and walked out on Him. However metaphorical you choose to make this story, nobody has ever improved upon it.
God is all Goodness, so if we don't have Him, all we are left with is the Bad. And humanity continues to rebel today; we want to make our own rules and not live by God's, even though God's rules are actually best and for our benefit. Consider a spoiled child: he doesn't want to go to the doctor! Nevermind he will only get sicker if he doesn't go, he is afraid of getting a shot.
Thus while we were all rebels and enemies of God, we are automatically going to be separated from Him for eternity--that's otherwise known as "Hell." But God didn't like this, He loved us, but nevertheless He is a Just God, which means He must punish guilt. Therefore, someone, somewhere, had to make atonement. We couldn't be punished, because we are mortal and finite; our punishment would be eternal Hell.
So God took our punishment on Himself, as Jesus. As a result the gap between God and creation now has a bridge across. We can have a relationship with Him, and suddenly His Goodness can be back in our lives. And while corruption still exists in the world, since people as a whole still continue to some extent in their rebellion, we are now assured a good relationship with Him, and to go to Him for eternity (otherwise known as "Heaven").
I myself am often frustrated by evil, but it is necessary for there to be free will. In order to be good, you have to have the option to be bad. Problem is, people often choose the option to be bad. Good News is that God did something about it--and now it is up to us to take this knowledge and do something about evil in the world. :)

It's not a case of having to suffer, it's more a case of learning and then hopefully appreciating what we do have. We all have our own problems, yet we all have amazing and fantastic experiences as well. The world we live in is beautiful, it's just how you look at things.
We are all here to learn, much like school. I always say the world is the most difficult of classrooms, yet has the most amazing and exciting playground.....

Most parents who plan to have children, do so with the hopes and plans that this child will be happy and have all of its needs met in a wonderful way. But hopes and plans have a way of changing and often the wanted child becomes a burden . Loving, caring parents, in the face of adversity will think of the child first and will take all possible steps to assure its well being. This is the ideal situation, unfortunately, the complications of life are not always, ideal.

Well, I agree with you to a point, but I've had a couple children, so I know that when babies are born, they're rather messy! The nurse cleans the baby up.
You could use that idea with life. You are given a messy situation, or you enter into a messy situation. It's up to you (sometimes ONLY you) to clean that situation up as best you can. You are the nurse.

Why Do We Suffer?
Lets see what the bible has to say about suffering starting in the beginning. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. (Genesis 1:1) God saw all that He had made, and it was very good. (Genesis 1:31) So, God created everything and saw everything was good. This means in the beginning there was no suffering at all.
If there was no suffering in the beginning how did suffering come to the world? When Adam sinned he brought death and suffering into the world. Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned. (Romans 5:12) Here is Gods curse to us because of Adam: To Adam he said, "Because you listened to your wife and ate from the tree about which I commanded you, 'You must not eat of it,' "Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat of it all the days of your life. It will produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat the plants of the field. By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return." (Genesis 3: 17-19)
As you can see man brought suffering on himself. Sin is the cause of suffering. Without sin there is no suffering. Without the law there is no sin. So anything God says not to do is sin. Sin is lawlessness. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23) Sin is simply rebelling against God. The effect of our rebelling against God is death and suffering. Sin was the biggest cancer that was brought on to the earth. Sin separates us from God. When we are separated from God we are cursed. Through the curse of our separation there is suffering.
When people say why do bad things happen to good people? The answer is no one is good. Jesus said, “No one is good—except God alone.” (Luke 18:19) The question should be why does God allow good things to happen to bad people. No one goes to God first. God has to come to us first. No one seeks God. So the answer to the question about suffering is simply we suffer because of our rebellion against God. Sin is the reason of suffering and death.

Because man has freely chosen to transgress against God and the way the world currently is is because of man being selfish and caring only for himself and not the things of God

Because we Sin. We offend God by Sin.
The Faithful are cleansed by the Blood of Christ and upon death leave this world of bad corruption, and ascend to the Father.
