I think the "God has been manipulated" is so profound. I'm sure he doesnt mean that God himself has been manipulated, as that is impossible, but he's presenting the idea that man has gone so far to pervert the word of God that it appears to us humans that God himself has been manipulated in the process. Thats exactly what has happened with all religions I think. The word of God gets replaced with the word of man and humanity is the one that suffers.

I feel that is speaks truth but not the whole truth.
I think terrorists are the problem but not that God has been hijacked. God is everywhere and everything and cannot be altered by anything as mundane as humanity's actions. It is the people that have been hijacked by terrorists and those that call themselves religious leaders.
In a world where people feel more and more alone and lost as we try to adapt to the record breaking changes to civilization many turn to religion....but people have turned religion into nothing more than an elitist club being lead by whoever can scream the loudest..not who sounds most like being in tune with God's wishes.
So with our religion howling in one ear and terrorists screaming in the other we have no peace or balance. The blame lies squarely on the people..they are the ones who allow the terrorists to exist and the ones who allow these religious leaders to tear society apart....they do this because as a collective there is nothing more feared by humanity than thought. People are desperately afraid of having to think on their own and not being part of something

Not that God has been manipulated, but the interpretation of what it means to believe in Him has been manipulated. Terrorists believe that they are doing God's work, but the reality is that they only carry the name Muslim, they are not Muslim by nature. Of what I understand, killing innocents is as wrong in Islam as it is everywhere else. By hijacked, I assume he means that people are now associating a small radical group of muslims, namely the terrorists, as representative of all Muslims. In other words, they have taken the whole religion with them, in the eyes of the world.

That's a wonderful quote, although no one can hijack Islam or God - that part just doesn't make sense. The IMAGE of Islam/God has been hijacked.

God is all Good but He also gives us all Free Will.
Nobody manipulates God, they can represent themselves as from God, they can say God made me make bombs to kill thousands of Jews and Christians but God does not make you do that sort of obsessed evil. That is the evil within yourselves.
With all the computers and televisions in this world I find it hard to believe that people can't hear other viewpoints, but when hate has totally taken over the brain and heart. the only release comes in death itself. It's really hard to pray that the terrorists heart's will change but pray we must.

I don't see a problem with it, he is saying Islam is not a problem but that terrorists are using Islam and God as excuses to commit acts of Terror.

But how did it get to the stage that 'Islamic terrorists' started to believe that their god would reward them for murder? Any religion that goes to extremes in the first place (view's towards women, covering them up etc etc) is unlikely not to impose themselves upon others, others who maybe believe in something else or maybe nothing at all. Other religions (less extreme ones) dont impose themselves upon non-believers/followers and dont go around torturing people for it...or just so they can be guaranteed frivolous things in their 'heaven'.

He's right. Terrorists have used Allah and Islam to justify their acts. Islam was never the problem. Allah was never the problem. It is the terrorists.

While he begins by appealing for God, it seems to end up trying to stike some sort of compromised position.
There's enough truth in it to cause you to agree, but then carries it to a point where you might fall into agreeing with some further way of thinking without telling you everything.

I find the idea that someone can manipulate God ridiculous. Would he be an all powerful God if mere humans could manipulate him?
