what is the meaning of: "kiss and make up"?,is any proverb similar to this in other languages?

It is what you say to little children and young girls to end a quarrel or a fight.
(Or a pair of lovers.)
Literal meaning is give each other a kiss and be nice to each other from now on.

I am sure there are proverbs in each language that express the feeling but I do not recall any at this moment.
I think my mother said something like:
Niet ruzie maken onder het vechten! (Do not quarrel when fighting!) to shock us out of the situation, but that was when we were a little older.
When we were real small it might have been:
Kusje en lief zijn! (Kiss and be sweet!)

Most of the time it's the ONLY way I get kisses from my almost 2 y/o son. He likes to tease. He'll walk up to me and act like he's going to give me a kiss, and then quickly back away with this big old goofy grin on his face. That's when I swoop him up and slather his fat cheeks and neck with kisses and raspberries.
