Here, two most commonly quoted verses of the Quran that are commonly taken out of context are put into context and explained. If you looked at the site, what is your opinion of it? Did it answer a question you may have had?
"“Violence in Islam” is an oxymoron; a meaningless phrase. The contemporary Muslim world situation appears to make the question, “violence in Islam?”, a relevant one. Anti-Islam forces, such as, Christian Fundamentalists, Zionists of all colors and shades, Russians, Serbs, Hindu Fundamentalists and others love to refer to the cherry-picked Qur’an verses to point out that Islam means terrorism and violence, not peace. Unfortunately, the ignorant masses of the West have been raised since their school days in believing that Islam is terrorism and violence. In addition, the pro-Zionist media loves to please the masses through reinforcing this belief and for keeping Islam unpopular in the West in order to prevent its propagation."

The extremists are just that-extremists. Just as the KKK are extremists from the Christian religion. Taliban is the equivalent of the KKK. They use religion but ignore what that religion says. They see fight, but ignore the part that calls for peace and says only if you've been attacked. They ignore the part that says "do not bring yourselves to destruction". In other words, they don't know their own religion save for a few arabic praises.

There is no such word as "VIOLENCE IN ISLAM" in Quran or hadith or anywhere....
These words are created by the anti-Islam for the benefit if their own benefit and economy.
It is just a freakin propaganda for them to used to discredit Islam in general.
There know what Islam can do while preaching peace and they dun want peace to happen.
In the pretext of preachin their peace-style, they have to point shoot point blank to someone!
So Islam has been the best scape-goat for them. Because according to Quran, we are not into war unless we are to raised defence......
And that...my friend, is the tinkle bell...they are being offensive and we are just being defensive......
So ...... DEFENSIVE! haaaaa, they played ion that!!
And stupid Taliban.....FALL INTO THE TRAP!!!

I think people can feel free to have the opinion that they want. They should be able to express there opinion, and those who listen (which should be lots of people) should have an open mind, and maybe change there opinion. Some opinions may not turn into anything, but it doesnt mean there worthless. Even if nobody treasures your opinion, you should. Its what makes you who you are.

You have to realize that to me Islam's discussions about one verse or the other really don't matter. The fact is that Islam IS a factor in a large percentage of the wars in the world and it IS a factor in 90% of the terrorism.
I also rarely see anyone speaking out against it. That means that there is at least passive acceptance of it in the majority of the world.
You want to change my mind? It is simple, change what is happening. Right now all I see is you criticizing people who notice, and that is not going to be effective.
Edit: You can say it is a small part all day, but again I can post links to photos of Hamas rallies with more than 100,000 at them. Can you do the same for a peace rally? I have never seen one that had over about 1,000.

You know I'm 56 and was never bought up to think about the Islam religion as negative or positive. It was just never an issue until 9/11. The Muslim's made sure that we "infidels" knew what the religion was all about, it wasn't me seeking you out.
I hear you keep saying that its a religion of non violence, but just read the news, watch TV. your religion not only hates infidels they hate their own....doesn't sound like a loving religion to me. You keep preaching loving, but when is it going to happen?
Just for information purposes only KKK has nothing to do with religion (Except Jews). KKK is a racial belief similar to the Nazi belief of an all white race....
How do you explain so called "Honor Killings" you muslim women sit by while your sisters, daughters and mothers, are murdered, not one peep out of you.
Shame on you!

You didn't mention the verses themselves so I hope I'm answering appropriately. I will give you my general opinion: The west has been attacked for years by ideas that God has somehow died. The west (perhaps the East but I am attempting to refer to the West as I believe you are referring to) believes that God is redundant, all religion is hostile and that spiritual people are childish. Many people do this under the guise of a religious standpoint but many compromise the religion they use and make it contradictory. They use verses out of all religions but fail to realise the internal contradictions they create in their religion in doing so (I can say this because I once did it myself). Unfortunately recently Islamic teachings have been compromised by many other factors including the death of communism in the area, which has led quite a number of people who are angry looking for any excuse to vent this anger. People need to understand the religion they are standing up for and be open minded enough to at least listen to others points of view rather than the personal attacks we so often see.
NB. The 'personal attacks' that appear in this post are referred to the disgust I feel for my lack of consistency in my life and my holier-than-thou attitude towards anyone who was 'stupid' or 'childish' to still believe in religion. Not as an attack on anyone else who shares a different religion to my own.

How is it that people I know that have been in jail were not troubled by ANY other group except the muslims? According to my sources, they alone were the most violent.
It seems to be taught into only a certain part of that religion though.
Not all seem to be so extreme, but those are the ones that claim to be the true followers. So?

Nonsense.
Israel (what you refer to as "Zionism") does not control the media. In fact, American media is very anti-Israel.
People have not associated Islam with violence before 9/11 and the public, televised beheadings of civilians.
