Up till the 1960's cars had nothing much of anything to do with safety other than brakes, which weren't very good. Many of todays safety features came from Swedish company Volvo, who were the first to put seat belts into cars. They also fitted dual circuit brakes ( One system works even if the other fails), and pioneered the 'passenger safety cell' which meant that the front and rear of the car crumpled up if something hit it, reducing the severity of impact, while keeping the people inside in a very strong metal cage.
It's frightening that most of what we take for granted in today's cars has only been around for a relatively short time.

They didn't even have brakes right away. The wind shield came later as well. Lights came along even later. The auto is a good example of slow evolution. A time line would be your best example of safety. Seat belts are only from the seventies.

They didn't go very fast, and there was very little other automotive traffic to contend with.
I think they put those loud, bulb-type horns on'em pretty early-those were for safety, I guess.
They put lanterns on them for nightime safety.
Many drivers used leather helmets and goggles as protection from road debris, etc.

There were no safety features. In fact they barely had brakes.

Easy answer-----NONE!
Brakes were about it.
Turn signals/tail/brake lights? fergitaboutit.
Airbags? Only the one sitting next to you yakkin' in yer ear.
Brakes were about it. And THEY were questionable at best. Oh, and an old squeeze bulb "AHOOGA" horn. Kerosene head lights, if you were lucky.
