First of all who says that by wearing a cross you are honouring Jesus? No way.
Wearing a neck tie is a formal dressing fashion and not to honour anyone but as a fullfilment of a required fashion

Reminds me of the Bill Hicks joke "A lot of Christians wear crosses around their necks. You think when Jesus comes back, he ever wants to see a f***ing cross? Kind of like going up to Jackie Onassis with a rifle pendant on, you know."

The neck time is an approximation of a celerical kerchief, sometimes used in the Sarum Rite of the Catholic church. Aping the attitudes of the clergy and their absolute position in society, medieval commonalty adopted the gesture. It has since passed out of the church, thanks to the use of the Roman Rite as standard in pre-VII parishes.

It's always about Christ.

This is a poor question.
Following your argument..
What do we honour when we wear shoes or pajamas?
What do bakers honour when they wear a chef's hat?
What do garderners honour when they use a rake?
It's faulty to bits.

It depends on the picture upon the tie! Solid-colored is themselves, striped is their paycheck, and then any pictures show them what they honor.

It's kind of like a name-tag for the illiterate. ;)
