Tattoos outlast a lot of relationships, really think about this before you get it done.
If you are considering having each name done in chinese, it would be really hard to have them done about the size of a quarter, unless you're meaning each symbol about the size of a quarter, that would be doable (I have the kanji for wrath that is quarter sized and looks great even though it is a mildly complex symbol).

Three things.
1. It is impossible to translate English names to Chinese characters because there is no Chinese alphabet. Chinese is written in characters which represent entire words/ideas, or sometimes sounds (but the sounds they use are very different from ours). If anyone tells you they can translate it, they're lying, either to make a buck or to make you look stupid. If you want to get writing tattooed, get it in a language you can read.
2. Name tattoos are the most frequently regretted and covered tattoos. Unless it's your mother or kid or something, don't do it. Girlfriends and friends come and go. Some say getting their name tattooed is almost a gaurentee you'll break up. There are tattoo studious that make their entire salary off of covering people's name tattoos.
3. Getting a tattoo that small risks having the lines blur together. It should be a little bigger.

Try doing one name on the inside of your wrist and the other on the outside. They will need to be a bit bigger than the size of a quarter, or you wont get much detail, check with a tattoo artist first, and research the chinese writing to make sure it says what you want it to, not just some gibberish.

ok first you wont get a tattoo the size of a quarter unless it is just outline, it would probably look better a bit bigger. And tattoos usually last longer than relationships. Im not questioning your love for this person but you cant see the future and even though its in chinese it will always be an unwanted reminder. i dont think its a good idea but its really up to you, you have to live with it. as long as you are happy. any more questions give me a message at www.myspace.com/darkside_tattoo

Don't do it unless this is a lifetime relationship. Child, parents etc. If it's a girlfriend/boyfriend don't do it. You may feel totally sure now but you can never know what will happen down the track. If you still feel you want it then like you said, don't get it too big and the inside of your wrist sounds good.

I think you'd better think twice about that. A design on the inner wrist is alright and looks good, but, if the other name is that of a girlfriend or wife.......I really wouldn't advise it.
That is, unless you have it figured out how you can cover it up if and when you both go your separate ways.
How 'bout this.....pick a Chinese character that describes you or represents you, then pick one for her. That way it is only maybe 2 symbols, characters, instead of 10 or more.
............and ask your tattooist, if he can do the tat so that it looks like it was painted on with a brush.................those
characters are so awesome.
give it some thought.......
good luck with you choice

I like the idea of getting it on your wrist, but it's a bit fashionable to get it there at the moment, so would you regreat it later? I've got one on my back and hate the fact that loads of people do too.
How about a bit further up your arm, on the inside, just below your elbow joint, so it can be covered up if you need it to be?

NO, do not get someones name if the someone is your lover , it somehow always ends up that people who do this end up breaking up w/ the person who's name is on them
anyway, if that is not the case I'd say the
upper arm would be good

I assuming because of where you want the tatoo is your girlfriend/fiance/wife/signifcant other's name. I would say don't do it, but if you must get it really small and where no one could see it.

Unless it is your mom or your child, get it somewhere no one will ever see. Tattoos tend to be more permanent than relationships...
