Do they not put enough flouride into the Water over there? Is there a shortage of dentists, and orthodonists? Is it poor diet? Can anyone explain this phenomenon?

Why are yanks so obsessed with our bleeding teeth. Not all "Europeans" have poor dental hygiene, in the same way that not all yanks are fat and shoot black kids out of the back of pick ups

Wow, who died and made you King/Queen of the tooth fairies?
The "English" as you so arrogantly pointed out have very good oral hygiene, and that's all down to us having some excellent dentists and taking pride in our appearance, unlike some other countries who think it's normal to eat huge maple syrup filled pancakes for breakfast, jeez that must be doing your teeth the world of good-NOT!
And talking of fluoride, i suggest you get your facts straight regarding this, a few areas within the UK are lucky enough to have the right amount of fluoride naturally present, this is called natural Fluoridation, some places are less fortunate as their water supply is deficient in fluoride, however the same effect can be produced by adding the recommended amount of fluoride (1 part per million) to these areas, this is called Artificial Fluoridation and has been done with out dramatic success throughout the world!
Us English may not have the all round so blatantly obvious fake Hollywood smile, but then again we dont all wont to look like clones of each other.
And on that departing note, i suggest you take your over priced toothbrush and shove it where the sun dont shine!

For a few years worked in a practice where a number of my patients were US servicemen. Since then I have never been able to understand this notion that the dental condition of US people is better than European. Possibly for the higher paid, but for the average Joe the costs are prohibitive.
And how good does your dental hygiene need to be to suck down a Big Mac, fries and a coke?

Considering most of us go to the dentist twice a year (all through childhood I went for a check up once every 6 months without fail) I find that hard to believe. I am 35 and have only ever had one filling. I live abroad now and they don't even sell baby toothbrushes as people don;t clean babies teeth here!! My husband didn';t even go to the dentist until he was in his 30's and his father had never been in his life. The standard of dental hygiene abroad is far worse than the UK.
Your assumption is ridiculous and not based on fact.

People assume that because English people don't all have sparkling white teeth which are straight as a die that they have bad teeth. That is not the case at all. Just because they might be a bit wonky or a little stained does not mean that they are rotten! Dental work is extremely expensive over here so people don't always worry about getting them bleached or veneered, or having braces to straighten them out, but we still look after them and keep them clean.

Another American pseudo-Troll trying to be provocative! (Or should that be pseudo-American?). How come I know Americans who didn't even see a dentist until they joined the US armed forces? And Vets who, by the admission of their own superiors, received sub-standard medical care after being wounded in battle? This in what purports to be the richest, finest nation on the planet. Can you explain this phenomenon?

Ha- I'll tell you exactly how it really is....
In the UK most people have don't have bright white teeth because we don't spend lots of money on veneers etc.
In the US the teeth strongly reflect the distribution of wealth in the country... the richer people have well looked after teeth and the poorer people... some bearly have teeth at all.

They have very good HYGIENE. It's just LOOKS they might not be as much as crazy Americans (which I presume you are) because they don't go overboard on unnecessary straightening and whitening procedures.

Bl**dy cheek, I have just come back from my Dentist who told my teeth are in excellent condition for my age, I am 47 and have had only one filling and my teeth are naturally white unlike you burger trash eating fat yanks who use false veneers. Get your facts right first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
