you can not save two files with same name [and extension] in one folder in general... BUT there's a workaround, if u are using CVS.. u can simply overwrite [check-in] the files one above other and whenever u want to retrieve, just check the version and get [check-out] the relevant file.

hi, you cant save the files with the same name ofcourse with the same extension and in the same folder, you need to have difference either of all these mentioned.
the file shld have different extension atleast or some different character ...

well you can't how would you distinguish between the two. you have to add a prefix or surfix if the same type ( like doc)or different format can have same name.

You can't name them the exact same, there would be no way for the computer, or you, to tell them apart!.
You can save one as filename.txt and the other as filename.rtf if you change the extension or you can call one filename1.txt and filename.txt but something has to be done to tell them apart.

Add a "2" after one of them, i.e. Fido2. I do this for sequential pictures.
