Hi ..
As such lipsticks have known to cause no harm.
However there is some concern of lipsticks having lead , or other chemicals that can cause cancer... this thing has been denied by major cosmetic brands who claim that this is untrue ...
These days there is a new range of organic lipsticks who claims to contain no such harmful ingredients .
For example ..Pls visit :
http://www.harmonic-health.com/organic_lipstick.php
Its upto u to judge what is good for you or bad ...

Getting it on clothes. You do need to use a good quality lipstick.
I have used it for at least 50 years and do not know of any bad effect unless you might have allergies.

Lipstick is known to have been used around 5000 years ago in ancient Babylon
It contains pigments, oils, waxes, and emollients that applies color and texture to the lips.
Since makeup worn on the lips is not just absorbed through the skin, but also swallowed with drinking and eating the FDA (FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION) has determined that the existing levels are safe.
using lipsticks as a blushers, long term misuse increase the risk of sensitivity and allergy reactions.
Hope this helps
