Why let everyone else's kids have all the fun.?

A few do have children in the armed forces, such as Senator Joe Biden of Delaware. I am sure there are others, but not in great numbers. This war is despicable, from its inception to the leadership to the lies and distortions, and the lack of examples of good leadership from politicians who need to start thinking about a resolution of this debacle instead of prolonging an ultimate mishap.

None, eh? Ever thought of doing any research before making statements like that?
--Todd Akin has one in Iraq and another at Anapolis.
--Duncan Hunter has a son going for his second tour.
--John McCain's son joined the Marines.
--Kit Bond's son has done a tour in Iraq with the Devil Dogs, too.
--Becky Lourey's son died in Iraq.
--Tim Johnson's son has joined the Army Airborne
And that is just a perfunctory search.

If you hadn't noticed, military service isn't compulsory in the United States. Maybe if it were, we wouldn't have so many worthless pieces of crap running around pretending to be hippies and screaming about their right to smell bad being impeded.

And, in case you didn't know, this isn't the 50's and 60's when only criminals and drifters enlisted and rich boys from back East became officers.

6 Congressmen have children who have served in Iraq.

4 Republican and 2 Democratic.

But the biggest factor, is the age of the Congressmen and Senators.

The average age of a Represenative is 56 years old.
The average age of a Senator is 59 years old.

Figuring a child born when they were 20 years old.

Most would have had children military aged in 1990.

The average age for their children would be 36 years old now.

Called choice. Got rid of the draft. Therefore this is a nonsense statement. Keep in mind Dems are the majority there now. Ask them why their kids haven't signed up.

They don't want their kids in harm's way. If everything was "peaceful" then you would see a couple of them be officers but never enlisted personnel.
A LOT of people in the military are there to get financing for school, looking for a way to get out of a small town or avoiding jail. It is rare to find a rich person in the military although it happens.
