The 'don't eat with your ears' analogy is ludicrous.
a) It is impossible to eat with one's ears
b) Sexual orientation is not taught. It is innate. It is like left-handedness. No one 'taught' me to be gay any more than anyone 'taught' you to be straight. It comes naturally to me.
c) Why are 'Christians' so caught up in 'curing' gay people? Correct me if I'm wrong, but Jesus said zero about homosexuality. There are hundreds of more directives in the Bible about heterosexual behavior than there are about homosexual behavior. There are hundreds of more directives in the Bible about food, for crying out loud. Why don't these very concerned 'Christians' focus their time and energy on these verses?

The alternative is for them to admit the truth - that they are narrow minded bigots. People are born the way god made them. Some are white. Some are black. Some are tall. Some are short. Some are men. Some are women. Some are gay.
Christianity has systematically been prejudiced against black people (the church endorsed and promoted slavery for 3 centuries on the basis balck people were less than human), women (still not afforded full rights) but most of all today against gay people.
I would not want even as an associate a christian who even once countenanced the idea that being gay was other than fully natural and of no moral or spiritual importance. Such people are evil beyond belief.

that is a hard one. because you do not see being gay as wrong. nor should you. just hope that your friends see past there own beliefs and obey the higher law. "love one another as i have loved you".
the love the sinner not the sin things works for things deemed socially unaccptable by all parties however. "love the meth addict not the meth". so rejoice in that you all don't do meth unless you do. i then am trully sorry.

Well, I know a gay guy who is religious to the point of being a nut bar, so I guess it's possible he could have religious friends, too.

You can tell some who eats with his ears that his behavior is wrong without judging him, just as you can point out the misuse of other parts without "judging."

One in ten, mate. And there are some big closets in churches.
In other words, they probably are friends with gay people, they just don't know it.
