I actually read the packaging on the bottles I bought and several other brands where it states that you actually only need to sterilize the bottles the first time. After that regular washing is fine. Just make sure you are washing your hands before preparing the bottles I also read this in a parenting book

Most dishwashers have enough hot water and steam at the end of a cycle - that going through an additional sterilization step by you - is unnecessary. If you wash your bottles by hand and get them super clean - I wouldn't worry about sterilizing either. I think sterilizing bottles is a leftover ritual from the past when we didn't know about general kitchen cleanliness and food safety guidelines.

I was told by the health centre I could stop once they were crawling around on the ground and doing those terrible things like picking up dead flies. I kept going until 12 months only because I felt better about it.

You probably never have to sterilize, but you should always be meticulously clean. Milk is a great culture medium for bacteria. Clean bottles, caps, nipples, etc. well, and rinse in hot water.

For me, I use steralizing tablets until theyre 6 months by then theyre sucking the carpet so its not a biggie... but I still ensure theyre fully washed and cleaned in the dishwasher between uses.

I stopped at 12 months. But I guess people are right when they say they are crawling and picking up stuff off the floor. Talk to your health nurse.

I stopped when my daughter started eating solids. I just wash her bottles and sippy cups with warm water and detergent and make sure I scrub and rinse them really well.

You can't stop suddenly. Try to stop it gradually. Being too clean is not healthy for your baby. His body will not be strong and resistive against virus.
