I bought a pot of cat grass from a pet shop for my cat. I set the pot near the window, in a shaded area, and give it plenty of water, but within two weeks, the plant died on me. I bought a second plant and am treating it well, I think, but a week after purchasing the thing, it threatens to die on me too.
What am I doing wrong? Is there any trick to keeping cat
grass?

you are not doing anything wrong at all!! that is how long the stuff lasts. I grow my own for my kitties and I have to plant a new batch every week. if you dont mind the trouble, buy some seeds and grow your own. or even easier, grow them some catnip. it wont die so fast

Simplest way is to just sit your cat down in the yard. And voilà!
You now have cat grass.

Oh wait- you mean Cat Grass. You could have been giving it too much water. Or not enough water. Not enough sun. Or too cold of an area for it to thrive in. Vegetation can be picky at times. Just keep up the work and you will get the hang of it.

Almost all house plants die from over-watering. Stick your finger down into the pot, and if it feels damp when your finger is down to the first knuckle, don't water it. If you're feeling completely dry soil at that depth, put it in the sink and water it until the water drains out the drain hole. Then let it sit there for awhile to drain, and put it back. Now let it get totally dry before you water it again.

Good luck!

Try lots more cat nip! If the sucker won't grow, stone it.
