I bet my friend that there would be a lot of similar ones to swear words in English; and I would like to know if I was correct. Please include the closest English translation along with it. Thanks.

I meant meaning-wise, not pronounciation-wise.

Well, there's French Merde and English sh*t, which mean the same thing. Some swear words don't -- for example "Sacred Blue" (refers to the Virgin Mary's robe) doesn't mean a thing to most English speakers. Just like the British "God's Wounds!" doesn't mean much to Americans (to be fair, it probably doesn't mean much to modern Brits, but sometimes you can see "Zounds!" in older books).

If you are talking about words that *sound* alike, I can't think of any offhand. But words that mean the same thing -- I'm sure there are several.

Oh, French for dandelion is "pis-en-lit" I've heard -- which means "pee in the bed." So maybe pis isn't as bad in French as it is in English.

Unless my French/English dictionary is very polite, there aren't any!

But I've found out that they understand the English ones well enough!

If you really want a load of unorthodox French, then I suggest you visit the site 'Alternative French Dictionary' (just Google that) and it will keep you amused for hours.

I basically prefer to settle the war of words between Seniorchippotl and Kalira: the two certainly one of you're marvelous, P ability whore yet is used to recommend F! it relies upon wherein context you employ it. while you're addressing a woman to insult her, then particular it is going to likely be whore. in case you have been fixing some thing and hammered your finger, then it ability F!
