Will biotechnology, nanotechnology and genetic engineering remove everything from the common cold to cancer?

Unlikly, illness is the environment around you infecting you or causing you other harm.
But as you say 'terestial illness' im guessing that you also imply unknown illnesses that could be contracted off this world?
Well obviously any new conditions would be new to your imune system aswell, making it difficult to heal from (did you know the common cold could of been a extra-terrestial dises? As it bears no relation to any of our other ailments Some theorise that it originally did not come from this planet, but from an asteroid carrying some genetic material infected with this disease)
If we did create a cure for all known diseases any new cases would greatly affect us as our immune systems would be underused and unprepared.

Maybe in the next century,anyway,some diseases can not be cured unless with a transplant.If a certain part of the body is missing,it'll be tough to create a artificial one,and the best risk would be to do a transplant.Think about it,wouldn't it be uncool if all terrestrial illness is cured and extraterrestrial aliens appear to create New diseases?.haha.I will then be answering the question,"how can we cure all diseases".....

"terrestrial illness"? Is that opposed to illnesses caught from aliens, or perhaps not caught from a satellite dish?!
I think nature will always evolve so that, if the common cold is conquered, something else as common will take its place.

as long as we are biological systems there will always be a chance for a rougue virus to harm us, no matter how sophisticated genetic engineering we apply...

yeah, but i think there will always be a new disease to cure....when they have cured cancer there will be something else that needs finding a cure for...unfortunately
