i recently took a pack of frozen ground turkey from my freezer and put it in the fridge to defrost. After a few days I changed my mind about cooking it and left it in the fridge. Is it safe to stick the defrosted ground turkey back into the freezer after it has been sitting in the fridge defrosted?

Once you defrost meat, you cannot refreeze it.

The exception is this: if you cook the meat thoroughly, then you can refreeze the leftovers.

NO! Salmonella could have been sitting there growing this whole time-best to just trash it. As a matter of fact I would be wary about refreezing any meat that had been sitting a while-they say you can refreeze beef once but that's right after it's been thawed and quality will diminish.

No. I wouldn't even consider eating it. Throw it out, don't eat it. You could give yourself a case of food poisoning.
