Eventhough I say exactly what I mean, and I am very clear with my message, I still come across so many people who still don't understand what I'm saying. I sometimes have to give detailed directions on how to complete a task, and I find that many people are just not good at follwing directions, even when it is to their own benefit to do so. Does anyone have this problem communicating with people?

Oh yeah I guess we are just more educated then most people it seems easy but to them they need you to do it in front of them or for them. They also need pictures for them to understand how to get dressed everyday.

Wait a minute. IF you are having trouble communicating with people in general.....perhaps its not them, but you.

Make a recording of you talking in your normal way and see if you can detect a problem. Have a close friend listen to you giving directions and see what they think.

I know a person who is very smart but by the time he gets through telling you something you will be so confused that you don't really know what his basic point was. This is because he jumps off the main subject along the way.

You may be throwing in all kinds of un-necessary things that you are confusing them. You may NOT be giving enough information. Do you go from start straight to the objective or do you throw in all kinds of "side trails" along the way?

Good luck. Pops

Sometimes people are more wordy than they realize, and the people who are listening, tune them out as the droning continues. So short and concise comes across much better than lenghy and overly detailed.
