Yup. Switch your stance so you can land a power right. Unless your name is Marvin Hagler.

It not weird but is it the best stance for you? If you are naturally left handed then it is probably the best hand position for you. If you are right handed probably not, yes there are some very successful righties who fight southpaw but there are 1000 times more successful righties who stay orthodox. The simple reason is number of power weapons. A natural righty fighting orthodox has a jab and two power punches (not counting r/l uppercuts) the power right and left hook. A natural righty fighting southpaw has a right jab, right hook and weaker power left. Except in rare instances does a naturally righty perform better as a southpaw; the best example is Marvin Hagler but Marvin was Marvelous when he switched to orthodox as well.

It no longer weird and wonderful yet is it the final stance for you? whilst you're clearly left exceeded then it incredibly is probable the final hand place for you. whilst you're suited exceeded probable no longer, sure there are some very helpful righties who combat southpaw yet there are 1000 circumstances greater helpful righties who stay orthodox. the easy reason is variety of ability weapons. A organic righty battling orthodox has a jab and 2 ability punches (no longer counting r/l uppercuts) the ability suited and left hook. A organic righty battling southpaw has a suited jab, suited hook and weaker ability left. different than in uncommon circumstances does a clearly righty carry out greater helpful as a southpaw; the final occasion is Marvin Hagler yet Marvin grew to become into impressive whilst he switched to orthodox besides.

Fighting southpaw if you are right-handed isn't that bad an idea. It gives you the quickness of your strong hand to jab and defend, while you can really bring that off left when you get the opponent making a mistake backing up or circling to his right.

If your opponent feels your right hand is your best weapon, this is a way to shake him up.

Winky Wright is a right handed southpaw and his counter right jab has been a problem for many fighters. Oscar De lahoya is a lefthanded orthodox fighter and his left hook has koed many fighters. Both are often called 1 handed fighters but they fight strong side forward and it works for them.Really its about personal preference and what works for you as a fighter.

Yeah....but, imagine if you can have your right arm back and build some forward momentum as you throw a punch. Your punch will have a greater impact on its target.
