I think if at all possible you should stop him/her with what ever noise or word you use when correcting, sometimes dogs do things when they are bored that can develop into really bad habits, the rock can injure your dogs teeth or gums and it can be expensive to repair or they may just pull a broken tooth. If you put some nyla bones or bully sticks in the yard where poodle does this maybe you can distract him/her. Good Luck!

Very weird. In fact, we had a German Shepherd who did the same thing, except he got even more extreme--he'd take rocks about 4" across and chew them up. He ended up with flat teeth, where he'd worn them away, but he did it all his life anyway. Yours is young enough that he or she may just be teething. Try getting a hard chew toy of some type, and whenever he or she starts chewing on rocks, take them away and hand over the chew toy instead.

As long as that's all she's doing, it should be fine. But, make sure she doesn't eat rocks. My aunt had an adult Dobie that did that and ended up with an obstuction. She had surgery for it once but the dog did it again and the second time she didn't make it. So keep an eye on her, I'd hate for anyone to go thru that heartache.

Nope. My gran's dog does the exact same. Apparently, it has something to do with their teeth, like a baby uses a teething ring, a dog uses a rock.

My dog eats chicken poo. He chews on 2x4's, his fence and on dirt.
There was a dead duckling the other day just outside the chicken pen, I went to go get the shovel to toss it in the woods and it mysteriously disappeared and the dog was hacking on something.
