Perhaps it is because some people like to use other people's car's side mirror as a mirror to look at themselves, which in the process changes the mirror's angle resulting in a very frustrated car driver (for having to find out everyday that you need to readjust the angle of your side mirror).

I did that in a job once because I parked my car where I could see it from my office. But, my side-mirrors caught the hot Texas sun just the right way and glared me to death where I sat at my desk.
