Just briefly .. may be able to come back in a little while when i can write what the answer deserves..

The US economy benefited from the fact that British resources were tied up in the war effort , the same with much of europe.

Generally positive. In almost any war, the economy gets revved up as we kick into gear and start making weapons at a furious rate.

well it was early 1900's and it kicked the economy in the a$$ and made more jobs just b4 the depression in the 20's
