Forget the time of year. The color is based on whatever colors you like. I got married in Oct and my favorite color happens to be purple so I had plum and white. My sister for married in Aug and she had pastels. They are not only for Spring. Follow your heart.

Garden weddings are often on the less formal side. You might want to have the bridesmaids wear calico sundresses rather than satin evening gowns, for instance. Cotton will keep your bridesmaids cool, which is an important consideration in August. sunhats would be practical, or flower wreaths woud be light and pretty.
If you've got the garden picked out, take a cue from the colors of the flowers planted there. is it full of daisies? Think yellow and white. Roses? Red or pink might look nice. Iris? Go for purple and gold. Or pick a shade of green and coordinate with the leaves.
In general, keep it light, fresh, and fun. Oh, and make sure you've got some shade and plenty of non-alcoholic drinks on hand for guests. You don't want people getting sunburned or dehydrated!

To me it isnt about what colors are right for what season, it's about what your favorite colors are. The same with the theme, it should be something important to you. I'm getting married in September and my colors are lavender and yellow because those are my favorite colors. Our theme is cinderella because I've loved the story since I was a child and am a collector of memorabalia. Also because our story is like a fairy tale come true. So pick what you like. You might try looking at some different wedding sites at the themes they have. Congrats on your marriage.

What's your favourite colour? Maybe you should incorporate that into your colour scheme. In the summer peaches, pinks, yellows, oranges, aquas & blues are very popular. My sister (summer wedding) had 4 bridesmaids and each wore a different colour which complimented the others. We had a deep grape purple, lilac, deep pink and baby pink. It worked well. At my wedding (which was a summer wedding also), the girls work a pale sage green with pink bouquets. It looked very pretty. If you are having your wedding in a garden, you could get away with summer and spring colour themes as gardens have a very 'spring' feel about them.

Spring is pastels....Summer is bright....fall is orange-y and brown, and winter is dark like red. Think velvet.
I love purple and white. Whatever, though. Make sure your man is okay wearing the colour, though. Not everyone looks good in pink.
Wedding themes usually involve flowers of some sort. I tried my hardest to have a cool wedding theme...but it ended up being music notes and white roses. Honestly, pick something everyone does like roses or lavander...or hearts or something. It won't be as original, but you want have to spend a whole day looking for invitations that feature a tropical bird theme for under 1000$.
Try Michaels or a hobby store. Just walk around and look at ideas. I loved looking at the stamps...there's a little bit of everything.

Try not to go with colors that are in season ... EVERYONE does it! It gets a little boring. Your colors should be what you want them to be. If you want red in the winter instead of spring or summer, so be it! Ask your guy what he wants ... He may not be into "all that wedding stuff" but I'm sure he'd appreciate giving his input. Also everyone's doing the pink thing ... can you say OLD!? It's been worn out ...either way the sky's the limit. It's your wedding and the colors are yours to decide.

If everything goes as planned, I'll probably be getting married next August as well. I've picked black, silver and blue/teal. Black and silver because it's easy and blue because it's both of our favorite colors. However, if I weren't so attached to blue, and were going with bright summer colors, I'd do yellow and green. I think those would do well for August, and they aren't too girly. Maybe it's just me, but I think that brides have a tendency to forget that they are half of the celebration, and there is another, more masculine half. After saying that, maybe you should have both of your favorite colors, and go from there. Congratulations!!And Good Luck!!

Me personally, I beleive that your wedding should be something you'll really never forget. What I mean is this... I hate cookie cutter weddings, so for mine I actually had a costume wedding. You don't have to go as far as that, but you can make it fun. I have also always like the idea of white and baby yellow. You can use yellow roses as flowers. Or if your on the dark side, as I tend to be. Black, and blood red. It's really important no matter what you do to personalize whatever it is you go with.

Purple and gold. A very vibrant purple and a deep gold go together SOOO well. My uncle and aunt just had their wedding and I was the event planner. It was BEAUTIFUL!!!! For flower bouquets we used purple orchids, purple dragon snaps, yellow lilies, and yellow orange lilies. It looked amazing. We had gold and purple chiffon hanging across the ceiling from the center to each of the corners and a flower ball hanging down from the center. If you'd like see any pictures just message to let me know.
