I mean really do you think about it after you "go". I'm always yelled at by my girlfriend because I leave the lid open. I just don't think about it.

It is all a matter of habit. When I was living alone, I left it up. Since I got married, I learned to close it. If your girl friend reminds you enough, you will learn to close the lid just to make peace with her.

You say "I just don't think about it." Well, mister, you WILL learn to think about it if you are reminded often enough.

**BE CONSIDERATE OF OTHER PEOPLE.**

Well, I'm a girl...
but my boyfriend closes the lid and I think that's very respectful (especially when he's at my house).
At home my brother never does.

I think it depends on whos house it is. If my boyfriend had his own place then he should be able to do whatever he wants. When you share a bathroom with a girl, you should be kind and put it down though.

Yes I do close it because like you said, you will never hear the end of it if you don't close it . Another reason that I close it is that I have kids ,and when it's open it is a perfect invitation for something to be dropped in it, and guess who has to take the toilet up and fix it, me. So I have gotten into the habit of closing the goofy thing to make life a little easier. The 1 second it takes to close it is worth a million to never have to hear about again.Do yourself a favor and get into that habit too.

I have the opposite problem with my son. He always forgets to lift the seat and pees all over it then leaves it for me to clean up. Of course now that I have started making him clean the toilet from top to bottom when he does that, he seems to be less forgetful...lol.

my hubby never puts the seat down....i have gotten up in the middle of the night and fallen in the toilet too many times. Hubby thought it was funny when I was big and pregnant with our daughter and I fell in and got stuck and had to call him to come get me out.
