I am wanting to do an adopt a soldier program where I adopt a soldier over seas to send them a care package. You know stuff they normally do not get. Someone that I do not know. If anyone has anyone or knows of a program like this let me know. I just need an address and a name for someone in iraq.

THanks

Brittany

Try www,mysoldier.com or www.adoptaussoldier.org. These are the sites that I used, though there are several organizations to choose from. Just keep in mind that it's not a penpal or a dating service, and there's a good chance that the soldier won't be able to write back. Also, it takes about 3 weeks for care packages to arrive in Iraq. When you send the letter introducing yourself, be sure to include your email address as well as a self addressed envelope (no stamp needed).

You're doing a good thing!

Remember the Anthrax in the mail issue a few years back? After that the adopt a soldier program was pretty much stopped. The best thing, if you want to show your support, is to find someone you know who has a friend or relative serving and ask them for the name and address. First, write and explain how you got the information before you send care packages. Otherwise they are likely to be dumped in the trash.

i do no longer think of it concerns if he posts his tackle at right here or no longer. its unlike they do history tests for any of the human beings desirous to undertake a soldier on those web pages besides. everyone that is going to those web pages can mail something risky to a soldier over there. my husband gained mail from faculties and unknown human beings each and all of the time and we on no account volunteered his call or tackle ever. i ask your self how they have been given his tackle.

Try www.anysoldier.com they list service members by name with addresses who would like to correspond (recieve care packages) with the supporting public. I hope this helps you and some service members.
Thanks for all your support, we really appreciate it.
