You will find that most often parents who abuse their children were themselves abused and are simply repeating the cycle because they were not healed from their own abuse and simply pass it on. The abused becomes the abuser unless treated and heal of the experience.

It is not in that sense deliberate but subconscious and a forgone conclusion.

The key to stopping the generational patterns of abuse is to heal the abused and make them whole person so they can truly parent their children and not continue the pattern of abuse.

It's just more visible in the media now. Back in the day, people just looked the other way, as it was none of their business, now it's okay to stick you nose in anybody's business, at any time, for any reason. No, I don't condone child abuse in any form, but there are times when people should mind their own business...there is a difference between abuse and discipline.

It's happened throughout the history of humans, and as wrong s it is, still happens, because od alcohol abuse and drug abuse leading to mental re-establishment and loss of emotional control. That, and it has to do with step parents. They have a tendency to take out their anger on a child that isn't theirs biologically, and it's always by nature. It's not uncommon for child abuse to take place, but it's not uncommon to find help for these children too. All we can do is wish for the best for them.

Love, and trust, are very difficult for people who grow up in physically abusive homes. Abusing a child actually forces their brains to form in such a way to deal with a constant threat of violence.
Anxiety, depression, lack of trust, and difficult in forming bonds are hallmarks of people from such homes.

Times are changing...once upon a time it was very rare for someone to reveal they had suffered physical abuse and sexual abuse was NEVER mentioned.
Now people are more aware of it and there is more support for victims, so it is spoken of more.
I dont think it actually happens more, it just isnt hidden as well.

I don't see people abusing their children. What type of abuse are you talking about. Physical abuse? I do read about it occasionally in the news or hear about it via television news. I see people abusing their children in a different way, not teaching them right from wrong, not teaching them to be respectful, not teaching them about Jesus and letting them grow up to be people other people don't want to be around.
