i already have sideswept bangs, but they are getting long and the ends are split, and i want to trim them myself. ive heard you twist the hair one way to get an angled cut, but i forget if you twist away from your face or in towards your face. can anyone help? has anyone heard of this?

I twist the hair in very small sections and towards the left because my bangs go towards the left.
For side swept bangs, I wouldn't section & twist. Instead I'd comb the bangs down & trim in small increments following the shape/line. To create, a softer fringe, I'd hold the scissors vertically & trim slight points.

The way that my hairdresser did it was you put your bangs in front of your face so that they're straight. You simply cut across so they're even and when you have them on the side like you usually do, they're angled! Voila! Good luck!

You can try to cut them diagonally with scissors, or, as u asked, twist it outward away from your face, then cut.

I really think you should take your bangs to a salon and get them cut. If you do it your self and don't know what you are doing, you are just setting yourself up for heartbreak
