There should never be a collection plates passed at church, niether yard sale, bingo, raffles , dinners, cake sales, exchanging of money, sales of any kind.
Remember when Jesus came into Jerusalum and went into the Temple? What did he do? He got angry and started tipping over all the money tables. because the Priest and Pharrisee were selling all kinds of things to the people making them beleave they would get a sacrifice from God.
They were also ripping the people off who came from other lands that had money worth more than the Roman coin and they would give only a third of the money it was was worth.
So what was the point Jesus was making? When he died he ended the old Law covennent and opened up a new Law covenent. One of those new laws were, people were to give from the heart. whether rich or poor or had nothing at all you give what can. if you are unable to give becuase you are poor
you were just as well excepted as if a rich person gave alot
That was the example of the widow and the small coin she gave wich was worth about a half a cent. Jesus said, she gave more than anyone that day because it was all she had and she gave from the heart.
And thats why you never see any type
of sale, gimmics, raffles, dances, bingo and so in front of the
Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesse. Because they give from the heart and not from thier status. And that's why they are the largest organization on the face of this earth. with well over
100,000 Kindom Halls and on average150 new ones built every three days.
Sincerely yours,
Fred M. Hunter

People just aren't using their intelligence nor do they know the laws of God so they do so called offerings in they mode of ignorance. "To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto Me? Saith the Lord: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bulls or cows or lambs or goats, When ye spread forth your hands, I will hide Mine eyes from you, yea when ye make many prayers, I will not hear, for your hands are full of blood."Isaiah 1:11,15 "But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat, and surely your lives will I require: at the hand of every beast will I require it." Read You Mean That's in the Bible by Satyaraja Dasa Shows all the facts about meat eating being a sin in the Bible.
