Hey!
I'm asian and i have upper lip hair, which is pretty noticeable and has been pointed out a few times. I'm trying to suss out the different ways in which I can remove it or make it less noticeable. Bleaching probably won't work since I've got darker skin, no to shaving and eletrolysis and laser are a bit too expensive for now. I've heard of threading, but I've also heard that it can cause discolouration. I've also heard that waxing works for some people. Can anyone give me any advice or info on how I can get rid of this hair? Thanks!

I'm Asian too - threading is the best option if you can find a professional salon in your area that offers it.

Waxing is the next best thing. Do not wax if you use Accutane or Retin-A, Differin, etc. which thin the skin. Tell the professional about medications you are taking beforehand.

Waxing can be irritating - I prefer a cold wax. The wax is allowed to cool a bit before application. I keep vitamin E oil, Aquaphor, aloe vera or Kiehl's Lip Balm #1 to sooth my upper lip afterwards.

If and when you can afford it, do laser! I'm on my 2nd round coming up and I love it. For the most part it doesn't hurt. However, if you can't do it then go with the waxing. It hurts for a few seconds and then you're good to go. The only thing about waxing for me is that I come out of the salon with a red upper lip so it's obvious that I just had a wax done. I'm self-conscious so on those days that I would get a wax, I'd go straight home and not make plans to go anywhere.

Okay... I'll admit, I have upper lip hair, too. :) I use a cream that I leave on for a few minutes and then wipe off. I use it once every two weeks, but I have light colored hair. It is like the cream you rub on your legs (Nair), leave on, then wipe off and the hair comes off w/ it. If you go look in to the beauty section around those type of products, they usually have one made especially for facial hair.

I would definitely recommend this over wax because you have to wait until your hair gets so long before you can wax again for most at-home products.

I say go with wax. The first time is painful but the pain goes away quick and the cost is minimal. The waxing usually lasts 3-6 weeks, sometimes longer.

Try waxing it off sweetie. Dont shave, you wouldnt want it to grow back darker and thicker. Its very inexpensive and the pain only lasts for a second.

Try waxing at home. There are several products that are sugar based and all natural. These probably are the safest.

get a laser treatment. It's gonna take away all the hair permanently.

I`d say getting it waxed would be your best option, but i don't have any experience so i wouldn't know that well. <.<
