Well i lived in Redding my whole life, And the weathers pretty fair, It snows like every 5 years, and there are alot of distinguished schools(if you have kids.)I would really recommend redding! There are many friendly people , and many fun ways to exercise.Like the YMCA IT has a pool ,workout room ,Basketball courts and many many more. There is the Shasta cavers , and many lakes surrounding the City.Camping and many resources to nature is just an hour away.I've loved Redding my whole life and i could never get tired of it! Many Many apartments if it is a smaller family i would go for apartments,But if its more than 3 kids i would go for house the apartments are really small! And well for jobs the city is adding on many buildings to the city that means JOBS!When i went to Elementary school i went to Manzanita , i absolutely loved it now i go to Sequoia Middle School,The teachers are very nice!

Yeah, really need to know what area you want.
Statistically, the safest cities in LA area aren't in the LA area.
Irvine
Thousand Oaks
Simi Vally
Those cities will probably mean a killer commute.
